Color modulation experiments and a MiniArt diorama

Post by andreb87 »

Hey guys! As you know i tried the color modulation technique on my pz 38(t) and i really loved it so i decided to practice it on a couple more models! The Panther type A and the Pz Kpfw III are from Dragon, they are older model kits, not the newer smart kit generation. The ISU 152 and the KV2 are from Trumpeter. The Sd. Kfz 10 is from Revell and didn't receive color modulation i just wanted it to disappear from my stash because the stash is too big , i think schoof built one a couple of months ago. That ugly T34 is an oooooooold zvezda kit ... terrible to build and poor detail! I used the Vallejo Color Modulation sets and i'm really satisfied with the quality of the sets. they aren't too expensive and you can achieve good results with them! The Diorama is from Miniart and i plan to use infantry and a tank in that diorama. The title says it's a normandy house but i think it's ok to represent a house of the italian campaign! the panther would be a great idea because it's from the 4 pz div in italy and i have grenadiers i could use! the assembly of the kit was a bit tricky! a lot of putty was needed and the fitting wasn't very good! now it's time for pictures! it are a lot! again ... sorry for the poor quality and the crack in the lense but i don't have the money at the moment to buy a new camera / smartphone =) cheers :cheers2:

Panther Typ A (Dragon) Nice Kit! I really like the color modulation of the dunkelgelb! it looks way different than the normal out of the bottle dark yellow!

Trumpeter KV2! Love the fact it only cost 12 euro -.- great kit for that price!

I hate this kit! Zvezda T34 76 ... Fitting is terrible and the detail is really poor!

Dragon Pz Bfhls Wg III. An older kit but the detailling is still fine and it was fun to build! I love color modulation on Panzergrey! Without it is really boring! Micro Sol softened the turret decals!

Revell Sd Kfz 10/4! Poor detail. Built out of box. no photo etch and a lot of injection marks ... wasn't in the mood to remove all of them :D :D :D

Wonderful work! I agree, the color modulation on the Panzergrey looks great. I have never looked into color modulation before, now I think I will.

Great modulation mate, I've built that Normandy house, the only thing that really annoyed me is that drain, I really don't think it would finish that high, if it was raining you would step outside and it would be like getting hit with a firehose.

Anyway going to sit in and see what you make of it.

cheers
