Pit marks after painting

Hi guys

Can anyone please assist........
This is now my second model that after I airbrushed it , it seems as if the paint is making small holes in the plastic.

I use Humbrol paints with the Humbrol thinners.
When I use Tamiya I dont get this problem but acrilyc paint is hard to come by here in Namibia.

Could you show us a photograph so we can see what you mean? Is it Humbrol enamel paint you're using?

It sounds to me like you are getting silicon inclusions on the surface of the kit. When you build the kit it may be an idea to cleanse your hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer and also wash the kit before assembly in soapy water (make sure you rinse with clean water and allow the kit to dry). Also try to get hold of tacky rags which should be available from a car/lorry sprayer and use the tacky rags before and after priming. The other thing you may need to do is make sure that your airbrush is scrupulously cleaned before and after airbrushing. The final thing is assuming that you are using a compressor is to make sure that there is an oil/water trap on the air line, and that that is also scrupulously cleaned.

Is it like an orange peel effect? If so you may be spraying the paint on too thick OR at too high a pressure OR at too low a pressure.

That looks like the effect you get from spraying alclad primer at too high a pressure and too far away, could be a similar problem with enamels

A point of view from a completely different angle here but it looks like casting marks that some older tanks have in the metalwork... I think it looks good!
