Revell 1:72 Leopard 1 A5

Post by ScaleModelling1105 »

Hi guys,
I just finished my Leopard 1 A5 by Revell in 1:72 scale. I've had more time on my hands as it's the CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!
Anyway here it is. I painted it with an airbrush using Tamiya XF-67 NATO Green, XF-68 NATO Brown and XF-69 NATO Black. I'm quite pleased with the result. I was going to mask off the areas and spray like that but I realised the sheer size of that task so I decided to spray it freehand. I'm making a diorama and will post pictures when I'm done. Anyway here are the pictures of the completed build. I will weather the tank further when I decide its environment for the diorama.

How do you like the Tamiyas and do you feel comfortable with your choice using them?

Yh I do feel confortable. I've got a good feel for them and I like their colours. Will definitely be continueing to buy Vallejo MA and Tamiya. And probably a set of Vallejo MC along the way. I like the Tamiya finish, I have easy access to them and I find them easy to thin.

Cheers,

That's fine and I have to second your experiences with the Tamiyas. I mainly use Revell Aquas and also Tamiya acrylics but the Tamiyas are far and away superior to the Aquas.

Superb! It looks spot on, nicely built and the camo pattern looks very realistic too.
