REVELL 1/72 'British Vosper' MTB

Post by RobertA »

Built this as my 'Sea' entry for my clubs (North Essex Modellers) 'Land, Sea and Air' competition this month. It is built strictly OOB, took me just over a week but probably would have benefitted for another day or two on the bench.. but I had to have it done in time for the club meeting..

Brushpainted with Humbrol enamels, and weathered using 'Ultimate' Dark Dirt Wash on the deck, and 'Light Dirt' in some other places.

Now that's a real beauty, i wonder if this was originally a pleasure craft before the war or a dedicated torpedo boat.
wonderful stuff altogether

Thank you very much, gentlemen.. In answer to your question, JayCub, I think they started out as dedicated Navy Vessels, and after the war they were stripped down and sold off as house boats.. Wouldn't mind having one myself.. but I guess that will only happen if I win the lottery.. :)

Fantastic model and wonderful brushwork. 1/72 looks to be a good scale for this class of vessel :th:

Thank you all!! 1/72 is a good scale for smaller ships and boats, as it allows for some nice detail without still being too big.. A battle cruiser in 1/72 would probably take up a whole room though, so I guess that is out of the question.. :)

And yes, I handbrush everything.. it's not for want of airbrushing, it's just that I have nowhere to do so, so it is the hairy stick all the way, for me.. :)
