US Postal Service strikes again!

Post by BlackSheep1 »

I ordered some kits from Wingnut Wings on the 17th.
According to tracking it was delivered to my UPS Store mail box on the 24th @4:55 PM.
The only problem is that the UPS Store closed @3:00pm on the 24th. and there's no one by the name that signed for it working there.

I think I'm SOL with this one!

I think that you should be able to claim against the postal insurance on this one. At the very least the delivery driver who took the signature should be under disciplinary investigation if the UPS office was obviously closed. Sounds as though he has just got a hobo to sign for the goods and went home for the holiday. Hope you get things sorted out A.S.A.P.

UPS really screwed the pooch this holiday season. They have nationwide late or delayed deliveries. FedEx seems to be doing well though

Sorry to hear about your package though, hope you get it soon.

You must be able to claim for that, surely? Just remind them that theft and fraud are criminal offences!

Yeah mate, get on their case and don't leave them alone until its sorted. Its the only way these companies get anything done! I had an issue with a damaged parcel I sent once with a courier company here in the UK, and took me a while, but I got my compensation as I fought that the damage to the package was not caused by me, but by the delivery driver as when I handed the parcel in, it didn't have the massive holes in the box that where then when it was delivered!

Dont worry Howard, if the US postal service is on strike it will only look like our UK Postal service is resuming normal service (apology's to British Posties here, its a long standing joke and not your fault :) ) The more North you are in UK the worse it gets, and has definitely deteriorated over the years.

In fairness ... its the couriers that are the worst here, my local postie has always been brilliant and waits for me to answer when she knows I might be in, the old one would ring the bell once and tear down the street, throwing his "you were out" card behind him "laughing" it seemed :)

Hope you get your WnW stuff soon buddy, they are excellent quality.

EDIT: Its the Christmas hols too, so online tracking may take a little more time to update? Its always slow here at the best of times ... for my Ebay win of a Tamiya 1/6 scale Yamaha YZ250 on Christmas eve day I was actually on the PC to check online tracking one last time and saw no updates when the door bell rung and it was delivered.

Colin, I must admit that the postal service round Oban isn't bad, and my postie does tend to leave any parcels outside my flat door. Although close to Xmas there they didn't which was annoying as I had to go to the depot for a single small box, which was only two 1/72 replacement canopies but were in a box too big for my letter box.

Hope you get sorted though Howard

UPDATE:

OK so I called the Customer Service number listed on the USPS website and, after waiting for 1 hour and 3 minutes, finally someone picked up the phone......and hung up on me!

So I decided to call the local post office.

I got the Post Master and explained the situation.

He took my number and said he was going to look into it.

20 minutes later I get a call from him and he tells me they have it and sends it out to my place (not the UPS Store).

Apparently the carrier got a little "creative" trying to avoid carrying boxes to the UPS store when he is delivering in that strip mall.

Anyways.....I got 'em.
