"Frozen" German infantryman at Stalingrad 1:9 scale bust

Post by HamilkarBarkas »

I made this resin bust from Stormtrooper in August 2011. Acrylic paints from Revell and Lifecolor were used for the paintwork. The frost and snow is a mixture of wood glue, water and "magic snow" powder which was applied with a brush.

My cat "Medi" could not resist to get infront of the camera and test the softness of the cloth.

thank you :) the model itself was a great basis so painting it was pretty easy. i made several bust later but they all did not look as good as this one by far! it all depends on the "raw material".

Another great piece, I think that this one might be one of my favourites.
You really brought the detail to life in this one.
Most excellent.

Incredible. It looks like a photo of a real person.

The cat however looks like he's thinking about giving it a smack.

I know I've commented on this one before, but I'm impressed all over again with this piece.

Fantastic work. It reminds me of the end of the Stalingrad film.

First class, gold star, top of the class figure work. I just love the way it quietly sets the scene (it could be so easy to go over the top with the snow) and leaves the viewer in on doubt about the situation and conditions in which the soldier finds himself.
Thank you for posting this
