Great stuff Matt, I love the corsair. It's one of the first things that I built as a kid.
You're certainly not wasting any time getting started eh?
Just remember to have fun along the way haha. Too fast and you won't remember it. :th:

Update

Sorry guys no pics for now will put it up maybe tomorrow or on Sunday .
Anyway I've painted up the main color using Mr color navy blue and masked up the parts that need to be painted as well. I did have some issue with the tail doors very flimsy and fragile .

Thanks Coen for the support :th:

Ok here is the progress on Saturday and today. I painted up the corsair with mr hobby navy blue but the finish doesn't look nice at all. Later in the day I've decided to do the second which belongs to the marine corp as I have a navy ver. already.. After painting the white parts including the prop its time to mask up the whole thing. Today I only manage to paint the tail gear's arrestor hook not an easy job btw :wall: and also I painted up the prop too but first I painted up the yellow parts first. Tip : To obtain a bright yellow first prime it with white then follow by the yellow. I will reveal pics of the tail gear tomorrow together with the prop unmasked and the corsair's new paint job using Tamiya's X-3 Royal Blue. I also did some pre-shading over the paint job (testing) well it's not as nice as the pro's here but I still like it..

OK guys the moment you've been waiting the reveal of this corsair...

Today I repainted the corsair and it is just like what I anticipated. Not sure if you see the pre-shading from the pic but it sure made a difference on this build.

Once dried here's the completed paint job. I also added the drop tanks too

Here is the photo of the completed prop as promised

Image

I've forgotten to take pics of the wheels during paint job. I used tamiya XF-1 Flat Black for the tyres and humbrol 34 for the white. I repeated this on the tail gear wheels too :D
Here is the photo of the wheels fitted on the corsair already

Later the disaster master came.. When I was applying the decals they just start cracking!!! But thank god I manage to save the damage from getting worst
And here is the completed Corsair!! More pics will posted at the final reveal section.
