Spitfire and Seafire

Hi every one, I've just come back to modelling after some time and now trying to get to grips with airbrushing and water based paint but really enjoying it. I hope the site kicks off big time for the guys and thought I'd post a few pictures of my last two builds.

Nice work Bill, love the late model Spitfires

What brand were the models and what paints did you use?

I'm in the middle of doing the Airfix 1/48 Seafire FR.47 at the moment bit of a PITA if I'm honest but, I'm hanging in there....lol

Thanks for the kind words guys, both kits are Airfix and went together a dream. Paint was Tamiya for the PRXIX and Vallejo for the Seafire, must say I preferred the Tamiya. Only problem I had was the gloss coats before the decals, I tried Klear and Xtracrylix gloss but had all sorts of issues. I'll be trying Humbrol Clear next time.

The Spit and the Seafire look cracking mate. I am in the middle of a rescue job on my Seafire. Was a PITA to paint with the wings folded, so ripped them off and put the unfolded ones on instead. Modelling it as if its coming into land with flaps, landing gear and tail hook deployed and canopy slightly ajar.
