Advice please

Hi guys just a bit of advice required

I'm getting ready to start priming/painting and I can see patches of dried liquid cement. Do I need to get rid of these or will primer cover them. If I need to get tt hem off what is the best way ?

If it were me I'd try and lightly sand them down with a very fine grit, not much, just enough to get rid of the 'lump'. After that the primer should be fine

The best advice I can give russ, is use less glue next time mate as it'll make cleanup easier for you, I'm guessing looking at that your using the revell/humbrol type with a nozzle? Try getting hold of some tamiya extra thin or mr hobby. The thinner glue makes it easier to apply with the supplied brush.

As for removing the glue remnants you need a polishing sponge/sanding stick, that will remove that in a jiffy, as one side is slightly abrasive and the other very smooth.

I'm using umbrol liquid polly with a paint brush but I think it's a little too big and so tha capillary action floods it , plus there's the confidence factor that means I tend to " better safe than sorry " it

Ah you use the same glue as me I find that a light sanding does the trick if it's really bad use the knife to scrape a little away the paint will cover any tiny bits up

they may be visible later but whenever i have to deal with such a problem i ususally do not care about it. a nice weathering will hide it aswell

Usualy if I dont feel it with my finger I let it there and paint will cover it, but if I feel it, I just remove it with an exacto knife.

Thanks guys, its a chieftain mk3 tamiya kit super dry , boxed has a mk 5 but those of us that drove the beast know better
