I had to make my own LOL well the Tamiya doesn't have any... so I had no choice ! LOL

it's a superb kit you should give it a go goes together like a dream few little mistakes in the instructions but u expect that from dragon would love to see your take on it

Well, I never finished mine for what ever reasons and took on a Modern Armour passion!

I migth revisited this one in the future!



It was more of an Experience at Casting "Thin" Zimmerit than anything else!

I will get some AKi products for German Vehicles and go at it.... maybe not right away but you are right... she needs to be finished and displayed ! Too bad Tamiya never released it with Zimmerit !

Sadly the Tamiya Kit I have shown... above doesn't come with ZIM !!! and most of those Porsche turret Tigers were covered with it...
a Sad "FAUX PAS" for Tamiya which never released a Zim coated Porsche King Tiger !

Just wanted you to know before you get the surprise... after opening the box !

ATAK thin Zimmerit is excellent for that.... I had to make mine for the turret cuz I didn't want to spend 40$ for it !
The bottom hull is a left over from ATAK !!!

She looks awesome.... Maybe!!! Darken that Tow Hook on the front fender .... its a little too shinny compared to your nicely weathered Kitty !

One more layer ??? or are you calling it done ?

first off cheers paul for your comments and to answer your question there was an mg going on till i lost it..had a great idea a clean up on the desk mid build not such a good idea either the dyson or the dog has it in there belly.

I have them all ! LOL 12'ish... but only build 1 Stryker... the M1129 MCV-B
I need to get going on those... or I'll be in the Geriatric wing of the local hospital by the time I get to finish them all !!!

Nicely done!
I like the battle damage. Good job on it. Battle damage is tricky stuff.
I've seen some pictures of these monsters that have been hit up to 10 times without a penatration or being disabled.
There's a really great story about a Soviet KV-2 that was hit about 100 times and just kept on knocking out German tanks from a crossroads.
There's a few that remember that are like that, a Tiger I in a field being hit over and over and then eventually recovered. I can't recall the details.
Damn things were made tough.

I also like the battle damage, nicely done. Looks like its taken a good few hits from puny American ammo!

I love how when you see shell hits that didn't penetrate on these really heavy cats, that the steel just looks melted. I wonder then if you had a brass scale shell, and heated the end up and pressed it into the plastic, would you get a similar effect?
