1/48 Prototype Spitfire

Here is my conversion of the basic Tamiya Mk 1 to a stage in K5054's prototype life when she had this fitout and a few flights under her belt

Conversion kit was obtained from Hannants a few years ago, contains resin exhausts , prop and boss ,radiator, wheels, doors, tail skid and vacu form canopy, decals are from Ventura , are thin and prone to shattering and silvering, paint is late war RLM Blue lightened with Tamiya sky grey it does have a blue cast and it will depend on your monitor how it looks when you view it, wing detail filled with superglue and sanded then rescribed etc not a hard conversion just a little time consuming is all

Without going into deep detail if one researches pics etc of the actual aircraft and visits museums you will find you can model her in MANY different fits of things like u/c doors, guns, paint etc etc etc

This in ,MY interpretation of a specific fit and time, no one else's , A 2 Z now have a complete kit with many options so the job is made easier in one way but harder in another which is...choice !!!! argggghhhh !!!! will i get one ????????...you bet

Draz thanks, i cant remember exactly how much the conversion set was , maybe about 15 quid in your money, the last Paragon set i saw on ebay went for around 50 pounds !!!!

A2 Z do a complete kit and it is 40 pounds, and looks lovely
