Pz.Kpfw III ausf. N

Post by Vilkas »

New Year - New Project! This is a Dragon model 6606, the the support tank for the early Tiger from Leningrad area that Hendrik is building at the moment, it has very nicely detailed winter tracks. Panzer 3 hot rod style :-) A very exiting thing is that I got this for Christmas from my mother in law

Thank you Markus, it is very suitable I think considering the freezing weather we just had, on the other hand by the time it will be done winter won't be in sight anymore. Just in time for Russian 'rasputytsa' :)

It's been a bit slow recently, but most enjoyable build so far: all the openings have clear part in them, the front armor is very well reproduced. The gun comes as one piece and has some nice rifling on the inside

Thanks for looking!

Just a couple of small bits at the front left to tie up and some stowage and....painting! Although I have to say I do love the assembly process a lot, especially when it comes together without major hick ups

It has been a while that I was away from the work desk, and then didn't have my proper camera and bla bla bla...Well I since recovered my camera and lost it again (wife went away to Ireland for a week and took it with her) so sorry for crap quality photos but here is where I'm at with this little panzer at the moment. Thinking about doing a little winter scene(I wayyyy not comfortable when it comes to dioramas) so that will be new area for me. Also I have never done winter camo (exept once, but then I just painted the whole thing uniform white and...it looks like crap) so that was interesting, and I quite like it. I did it with humbrol maskol.

Hello everyone! I am sorry think build went through a considerable pause, for whatever reason :-) but it is back on track :-) and what is rather unusual for me I have every intention of building a diorama for this hot rod tank. So at the moment the model finally got the over sized tracks on, I really like the effect. And the tank got two very light oil washes, I really want to keep it minimal on the white wash, but I think there is another overall filter to be applied still....
