1/72 Avro Lancaster B.III (special) The Dambusters.

Well I see that there are 2 other entries with the Dambusters theme, so I sure hope i dont disappoint!
I decided to build this Kit because I am fascinated with the story behind it. So with that said here is the kit:

Are u going to do some youtube videos?? Really hope so... but please can you take the bold guy out of the video and just put that lovely popcorn you have??? The videos would have much much more appealing !!

I haven't built a Lanc since my youth, so it'll be nice to see one come together. I have the Revel DB Lanc and did consider entering that one instead of the Karas, but I'll get round to it some day. Those Brassin wheel looks the biz!

Update #1:

Ok! so I was able to squeeze a little bit of time in, So I decided to start working on the interior. First I applied the PE in. The main control Panel took me about 1 hr to do because of those tiny little handles. So here are the pictures:

and the rest of the components:

Fiddly bits, takes some calm breathing and patience, put pays at the end.

The pilots from "Ice pilots" recreated the dam buster mission.

Very nice update on your Lancaster. I like the cockpit very much especially the dials in the instrument panel. The cockpit interior also look very stunning. Hope to see next progress on your build. Keep up good work.

Damn the details on the instrument panels hurt my eyes when i tried to concentrate on the pictures.

I can only imagine how yours feel after painting it, do you now have the modelling spong eye?

Update 2:

Well the interior is pretty much done!

Through research I've found out that the Aircraft chosen for this particular mission was only 13 days old! so I've decided to minimize the weathering and just do a very light pass of dry brushing:

And that is all for now. Time to seal this baby up and bring the fuselage together! till then, Happy modelling!!

Over here in USA I don't have the history with the Lancaster that they do in England but the more I watch you build this the more I see that this is a fine looking ship!

Update 3:

The fuselage is finally put together, I had no major issues at all with the exception of a small gap on he bottom near the bomb bay. This was taken care of with a combination of super glue and Mr. dissolved putty. Other than that, this kit just falls together....

I also decided to open up the escape hatches on top of the fuselage, and after handling the fuselage I accidentally knocked off the windows so I decided to make them with Micro Crystal Clear (not shown here) and the same goes for the hatches. I also attached the internals of the main undercarriage bays, these create great support to the wings!

Update 4:

The wings are on!! now its starting to look like a Lancaster. Started by gluing in the wheel bays on, these are a perfect fit!

Next I closed the wings and applied a little bit of Mr. surfacer on some needed areas. After that I used un-thinned paint to checked the seams and joins. That is used for two purposes: one is to work as a micro filler and two to show any imperfections that might need more sanding and/or filler.

notice the heavily sprayed areas, those were the areas where I though would need a little more work, so by doing that, the paint would work as filler!
