Great entries so far, i´m looking forward to see you guys building it :)
Hey buddy.

Sorry but this one isn't eligible for the SIG as it is an Anti-tank gun rather than Artillery.
Really? Saw some AA guns several pages ago. I will see what i can do about it :) If its only heavy artillery i have something in my stash available.
Michael,

just add few bricks, barrels and maybe sandbags and 5cm PaK will be heavy enough to qualify :D

Cheers,

Michael, yeah we said fixed AA guns would be allowed, as they are often termed anti-aircraft artillery.

But AT guns aren't artillery, being as they are direct fire weapons, rather than indirect. And the 5cm Pak Gun as you will know is an AT gun.

I will build it anyway, not as part of this sig of course! I wasn´t aware of this definition. Saw some rockets and other AT guns here but its okay.

Well I've never heard of mortars being used in the direct fire role, so I reckon you'll be good to go!

Ha ha ha! Sorry, I misread that as 'mortar carriage' not 'motor carriage'! If it's got howitzer in the name, I think your safe, lol!

Yeah the M8 sported a howitzer in it and was used as an SPG as far as I know.

Would Tamiya's M-106 be eligible??

I'm not sure if I will get time to enter this SIG as my modelling commitments are quite full for the first half of the year but I will if i can find the time.

No, I'm afraid not. That is in essence just an APC with a mortar in the back, and not a specific artillery vehicle.

I saw someone was building the German 88 flak gun so I was wondering if this would eligible too...or was that because the 88 was originally AA? Cause this ain't... I haven't bought it yet and I don't think it counts, I just want clarification please. :D

It looks like a direct fire weapon from the box cover and not artillery. I could be completely wrong though as I don't know the subject..

I've been trying to get my hands on the AFV Club M-109A2 Howitzer for a year & finally, Sprue Brothers Models says they have them in stock, but, now I'm broke til the 3rd of March, so don't know if I can make the deadline or not. As a lifetime member of 2/34th FA, The "Red Machine", I'm wanting to make one that'll make the unit proud. I'm wanting to do it with turret & rear hatches open showing interior detail; if the kit doesn't have much interior detail, that's okay --- I wasn't a triple Army Achievement Medal-winning turret mechanic for nothing, lol!

Recently found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12.8_cm_Pak_44

"...but the 12.8 cm Pak 44 better maintained its anti-tank performance over long to extreme-long ranges (2000–3000+ yards) while also doubling as an effective field gun when firing HE. (...) The light and medium charges were normally used when the gun was fulfilling the role of an artillery piece, where they would launch the ~28 kg projectiles to a muzzle velocity of 845 m/s and 880 m/s respectively. "

Hmmmm...it`s both...: still too much on the go (see below) so I won`t be entering anyways... :D :D
