Revell 1/72 B-1B Lancer

Post by EasyEight96 »

Hi guys first I would like to say sorry for posting a few bombers and never done any progress on it. After a long consideration I've decided to build this monster
Image

This kit is a very huge one and I'm just imagine how is their 1/48 offering. As this is an old kit it has raised panel lines and annoying thick sprues to cut out :wall:
Anyway here is what's inside the box.

Fuselage

I'll be doing one of the scheme during the year 1996 as its my favourite year as I'm born in that year lol

That's all for now will log in my progress in 1 days time

Yea! A B-1! I was hoping someone would build one of these! I've seen them at airshows and they are a treat in a high speed pass! One of the 2 aircraft at the show where the announcer warned about the noise. The other was the harrier while hovering. :thumb2:

Wow I didn't know it was that loud Thanks for the knowledge about it and the Harrier too :D

OK as I promised here is the update.

I didn't done anything on the cockpit yet as I'm waiting for paints to arrive here's the shot of the cockpit before painting(Note the pic was taken at grandma's house in the afternoon)

Image

Later when I got home I assembled the engines and there were massive gaps on both so after some sanding I applied tamiya liquid surfacer
Image

After letting it to dry for few hours I sanded it down and this is the result
Image

While I was waiting I started assembling the wings and it's not an easy job :bash: but at the end I still manage to tackle that problem and dry fitted the wings onto the fuselage
Image

Cruise missiles assembled
Image

Image

Landing gears assembled and dry fitted the wheels looks awesome
Image

Tail wing assembled too fitting was bad I need to use a lot of clamps here was the result quite nice but still needs filler
Image

That's all from yesterday and nights work on the Bone tomorrow will start painting the cockpit and weathering it

Cheers
Matt

I have to say, that decal sheet looks to be a whopper for 1/72, probably the biggest I have ever seen  Loving this build
