Tiger II Porsche, Jagdtiger, Maus (all dragon kits)

Post by andreb87 »

hey guys i just finished painting of 3 tanks. my compressor is overheated and really needs a break now! it's just the camouflage, detail painting and weathering will follow. i wanted to try new camouflage themes. the jagdtiger will receive dots for the ambush camo! the maus has a new turret i think it really is an eyecatcher i like the contrast to the hull a lot! i used the ak interactive german late war colors set for all 3 models! i can highly recommend the set i used the colors straight out of the bottle without diluting them. during the next couple of weeks i will paint the details and begin with the weathering! of course i'll make as much pictures as possible for you! oh one thing ... sorry for the bad pictures i had to use my mobile phone camera and theres a crack in the lense! cheers :cheers2:

Very nice tanks! The pinture looks exellent! Are this colours form tanks from 1945???
Hope to see the end of this project, if this tanks looks great now, with details and some effects I'm shure the result will be epic!: :

yes it are the colors used at the end of the war, mainly 1945. the typical german dunkelgelb from 1943 is now nearly white! excellent color set! :thumb2:

Interesting schemes. I like the contrast between soft and hard edges on the Maus.

yes they are really good. they are already in scale which means due to the weathering with filters, washes, oil colors and pigments the colors normally get a lot darker and ak interactive thought of this so every color is a little bit brighter than the real rlm standard!

Nice work, I really like these especially the Jagdtiger, I'm now interested in these colours.
Can you tell me, did you apply the light colour as a base first for the Jagdtiger, and last with the King Tiger? I think I see a difference, each of which is valid, but the colour intensity may depend on sand over green, or green over sand.

there are 2 shades of dark yellow in the set. the darker dg1 and the brighter dg3. for the jagdtiger and the tiger i used the darker dg1. the dunkelgelb of the tiger seems brighter because of the tiny amount of dunkelgelb in comparison to the green and brown. for the maus i used the brighter dg3 which is nearly white! hope that helps you! :cheers2:

oh i forgot that :D :D :D yes that's right i applied the dunkelgelb on the jagdtiger as the base and after that the green and brown. the tiger 2 was basecoated in green and after that i added brown and dunkelgelb! :bash:
