A suggestion for a GB or SIG....

Post by UKguyInUSA »

Guys,

I was thinking about Aircraft I'd like to build and a few of them just happen to be manufactured by Hawker, and so I got to thinking about the following suggestion:

In commemoration of everything designed and manufactured by Hawker, before they merged and became Hawker-Siddeley, what about a GB or SIG to build anything made by Hawker from their first Hawker Duiker through to the P.1127 Kestrel. If you're interested in a particular version, but models aren't available and you have the skills to scratch build, then display your talents!

I know there'd be a few aircraft that immediately come to mind...Typhoon, Tempest, Hurricane, Sea Fury and Hunter, but there's a wide range of choices. Maybe the more unfamiliar designs warrant more attention? Maybe with the upcoming release of the Airfix 1/24 scale Typhoon (orgasm) sorry...couldn't help myself...it's a motivator to go grab that kit: if you can financially warrant parting with that kind of cash without upsetting the wife, or breaking the bank and risking foreclosure on your mortgage; and then delighting in the engineering quality of the vast array of details included with this new tooling! OMG....I dream about that model...I hope I don't talk in my sleep, otherwise my wife will be off to a divorce attorney getting divorce papers based on me cheating with another "woman".

Okay, enough of my drivel, but it would be nice to know what everyone else thinks?

Cheers,

Martin

I've got the new(ish) 1/32 hunter in the stash. When are you thinking of starting this? Lots going on at the moment!
