Advice needed on warped kits

Hi i just started an airfix hurricane and the fuselage halves are so warped they wont go together, Any ideas?

Bin it lol


You could try putting it in hot water and seeing if it'll bend back to shape.

As Paul said try hot water, if you have a metal ruler you could try attaching the hurricane on either side using rubber bands and then immersing in hot (not boiling) water. In theory that should bring the sides together.

ds If the kit is still being produced, I would recommend contacting Airfix and get them to send out a replacement for the most badly warped half. I have got to say with Airfix that they are superb at sending out replacement pieces.

Thanks for the advice,I already considered the bin it option.Will try hot water then contact airfix its the VC icons box so i think its still being made id heard the cane was the best one hope thats not true.

You could cut the locator pins. If they don't help?
And manually line up and Stich glue the fuselage that way!

Or Add little tabs of styrene on the insides near the entire halves joint

These will serves as alignment tabs keeping both inside skins lined up
Forcing the two halves to line up!

If too pronounced ? Hot water!
Or the bin if cheap enough you don't care?
