Airfix 1/48 JU-87 Stuka double build

I built two of those at the same timeline for myself and one as a thank you to a friend..

I will be modelling these as the 1941 scheme with the yellow cowlings, one will be in flight on a disply stand (tony) one will be on its lanidng gear (mine).

Wings on some filler on and some sanding awaiting me (not too much though)

Ok filling and sanding sorted, primed and top coat of rlm70.

I had a change of plan on the colour scheme as it would have meant using the italian decals and i dont want these i want to use the german decals. So there going to be the rlm 70, 71 and 65 scheme.



Now im going to a pilot and a gunner in the stuka that will be posed in flight but i guess im right in thinking this is the uniform they would wear at the time of the BOB.

I getting conflicting info on the colour of the life jacket some show yellow some an off white beige anyone got any advice on the correct colour im thinking yellow myself but....

Ok i spent most of today masking up the canopies (all 4) and painting the pilot and gunner after alot of research i painted them in the uniform colouors that seemed to get the most votes.

The splinter camo pattern was a bit of a bugger to mask up and the best bit is ive got nother one to do tomorrow hoorayyy

A coat of klear next then the decals and landing gear.

4 hours of work and they are both decaled up.

Coat of gloss after my dinner and then some weathering (nothing major though)

Thanks for posting this. I have an old 1/48th Revell (well Monogram actually) JU-87 in the pile awaiting some glue and paint. I am a little worried about how its going to fit, being an older kit it could either be excellent or crap. And its got raised panel lines, which I don''t mind, save I am scared about losing them if I have to do excessive gap filling!

Will be using this as a reference though!
