Tamiya 1/32 vought corsair

where to start this kit is amazing the level of detail is outstanding if any of you have never built a Tamiya 1/32 I advise you to just do one. I was nervous about building one because I though it would be to complex but honestly the instruction manual is so easy to follow you couldn't muck up if you tried

this is my first navy plane ( my first carrier) I have been watching Paul do his corsair step by step video that was so helpful especially for the engine.
the paint I used where mainly Tamiya acrylics but I did use Vallejo rust colour of the back of Paul's vid of the Vought's exhaust. this kit was so fun to build and is well worth the money any was enough jiba jabba











I didn't attempt the painting the propeller tips yellow I cant seem to find a good way of doing them so if anyone has a good way of painting them would be very glad to hear them please comment on my corsair for any improvement you would of made I'm open to all comments for extra tip more knowledge the better

Lovely job on a great looking kit.

Not done props before but when needing a even and level coat of paint on the end of several objects, I have filled a small jar with paint to the required depth and then dipped the part to be painted.

Good luck! Perhaps try it on a scrap of primed sprue first to check the consistency of the paint and coverage

works really well, you were right checking the consistency helps a lot I found a little thinner help a lot

Oh I must start mine ,but too many models , not that much time

I can't decide if I'm going to do it landed like yours or make it on flight with the pilot in cockpit , I saw other build in the forum and both are explendid to have in the shelf ...Maybe I can buy another and do both

Nice Job!!! If you use setting solution with the decals, the yellow prop decals work fine. I didn't have any problems when I built mine. They will look good too. If you decide to mask and paint, it would be a good idea to paint a white primer or base underneath the yellow because yellow has a tendency to be slightly transparent and take on a little of the color underneath. Hope this helps.

That's a real nice job, David! Since building my Tamiya Mosquito, I LOVE Tamiya...their kits are awesome. I'm waiting delivery of a Tamiya 1/48 Douglas Skyraider in the Vietnam war colors and can't wait to make a start on that one, but there are another two kits coming with it that I will be building first.

yeah I saw them on the decal sheet but wasn't to keen on using them because the ones in the mustang weren't that good maybe next time I will try and challenge my self
