I can not help with how to use it but I've found if you don't prime the top coats in my case vallejo seem to come off easily. So at the moment using a primer from a spray can and looking for advice as to whats best. One thing I have found is the people on here are very helpful and knowledgable
It's not the number of times you get knocked down but how many times you get back up

it will be harder to apply primer with a brush but not inpossible
i think that you should test it on a piece of sprue first
there should be no.need for thinning
if you don't get a even finish/brush strokes are showing yhen use a fine grade sand paper to get a smooth finish
or the lines in the paint will becomr bigger as you use more paint on it's surface and that won't look nice
for cleaning i use airbrush cleaner but i use a airbrush
if you don't have some i think a heavy duty soap could help
i do like the idea of hot water that should help alot maybe you need to soak yhe brush in it for a while after use but i could help
keep in.mind that primer dries rather fast so don't prime everything at once this will ruin the brush because it will dry in the hairs and could become stuck in there
do shake the bottle and very well too so the primer gets mixed
i suggest to pour it in a small cup when you are going to use it but make sure that it is disposable because the primer probably would come out once dry
if you don't have something like that use a coffeecup and cover it with a large piece of tin/aluminium foil so it cover the entire thing and after use trow it in the garbage bin
i hope this should get you started and good luck with the priming and painting
cheers Mark
