SMER Jakovlev Jak 3 - 1/72

Hi fellow modelers,

Going for my third build - A small, but a bit more "tricky" model subject : the Jakolev Jak 3 ( Yak-3) from SMER.

Its not the best of models in the details...raised panel lines, and no cockpit details...




This is the cockpit "cabinet"...with a stick, and a bench, and nothing more.





This was a good model to do my first real experiment with some scratch build.










Use some cardboard to do some textures on the side of the plane, and in the cabinet, and use the masking tape to do the seatbealts...now it needs a brown wash.

Its far from great, but its better than it was !

An update on smer´s Yak 3

There were nothing on the wheel well...just a hole



I constructed an attempt of well with cardbord.
This is the result:



It was better then nothing, but its not perfect...i ve just discovered now the evergreen plactic sheets...its ordered now.







I used a combination of

-Blue Grey H96 and Light Grey H64

-Blue Grey H96 and Grey H106

-Light Blue H65 with Light Grey H64 and Blue H15

It turned out a bit more Blueish than i wanted, but i think its not than bad...

Now it time to star painting some details...then the first try at white weathering with the hairspray tecnique...I m still testing in some disposable plastic.

Should i try it "live" or should i just leave it as it is ?

Decisions...decisions...

Final update, its finished...



Not an easy kit with the lack of detail (especially in the tyre wells) but not too much fitting problems.
