Nice work, so far. I like the color demarcations on the fuselage walls. :thumb2:

Nice job so far, I'm presently working on a Revell P-51D Mustang in the "Miss Marilyn II" colors, but, it won't look as good as a Tamiya kit like this one. I look forward to seeing how this one turns out!

Cheers, :cheers2:

Nice job! How are the parts fitting together? Is it pretty snug?

Nice start, it's a great kit, look forward to seeing your progress. What metal finish are you going to use

Navcom: The parts go together great with the dry fitting that I have done so far.

Paul: I am going to be using Alclad II. I am thinking of polished aluminum overall and duraluminum for some of the panels. I am not sure what I am going to use for the control surfaces, like the rudder. As you probably know, North American used a different skin on them. They are more grey in appearance.

Thank you for the comments guys. Keep them coming. Suggestions are always welcome.

Polished aluminium can look a little too shiny if you want an honest opinion mate, depends if your gong for a warbird or a show bird.

Thanks for the heads up, Paul. Honest opinions are always welcome. I was going to buy several of the Alclad shades that I am think of using; and then spray them on a scrap sheet of plastic card to see which ones I like best.

Here are some more updates. Nothing too exciting. I have done some additional painting. The cockpit needs a little clean up, detail painting and then some dry brushing and a wash.

I painted a few of the controls and then did a light dry brushing. Since I am not going to give the aircraft a heavy weathered look, I did not want the cockpit to look too beaten up. I just wanted to dull the black and green down a bit. At this point I am using Tamiya acrylics. I am not sure that I like the way the landing gear looks on the pictures I posted yesterday. The flat aluminum does not look right to me. Suggestions are always welcome.

The cockpit is coming together. I did a light wash with highly thinned Tamiya XF-1. I just wanted to cut down the look of the silver. I think is came out okay. I would have liked to use a pin wash with oils, but did not have any; so I improvised.
