I use Ammo (what was AK) primer. Seems to go on really well and not flake away or make paint peel off when masking. What did you mean by sanding friendly?

Ak or ammo all day long, dries fast, sand with no problems and doesn't peel off with masking tape.

When Vallejo primer peels. You are not waiting long enough to dry.
Make sure that after spraying you wait at least 24 hours or even better 48 before sanding.

Yeah the Ak/Ammo stuff is really great.

Except the black don't waste your money on that.

Grey and white work very well though.

Been there done that and it still peels off, not worth the risk ruining a good paint job so switched to ak and ammo :cheers2:

Well that sucks.. :(

To bad AK/Ammo is not offered in the netherlands. And shipping for 1 bottle makes it real expensive.

Ah right, yeah the AK/Ammo doesn't do that unless you leave it for about 20 mins. When priming the exterior of a kit I tend to leave it overnight at least then it'll sand with no problems. I also use it straight from the bottle without thinning as it doesn't seem to need it(happy to be told OMG don't do that ofc).

Damn, for real?
The guy at Hobby Town swears by Vallejo so I bought everything Vallejo.
I'm gonna start priming today... guess I'll have to wait and see...

Have had no problems with the Vallejo primer up to now.
Shake well before use and thin it like maybe 10% , and spraying also goes good.

So, no worries mate :th:
