Couple of coats of Alclad Aqua gloss down and decals on...

Even though the decals were old and very poor, I managed to cut around them a make them smaller and they seem to have gone down well. Who'd have thunk it...!!!

It's a a modern AFV Paul, they don't get dinged up like they did in the woar....

You should do more of them
Forget about those wingy things with all those decals
Tracks and a massive gun are fun to build aswell
Or that dora that is taking up.so much space in the stash

You don't look for space for such a build
You make space

That is what i did for my leopold altough that is 20 cm shorter that your dora and needs an overhaul when the shelf of doom gb starts
But these kits need space and you just need to make space for them
Like in the middle of the dinner table
I'm sure the wife won't mind

Had me my first go at doing a pin wash today. Made it up myself (2 parts dark mud + 2 parts black), never done this before as I've always used a water/clay based wash on my aircraft.

I basically did every raised surface, nook, cranny and crevice. Honestly, is it any good?

I think the wash turned out good
Maybe it is that the photo isn't showing it but i would use some wash in the air intakes
And get some dirt on it ,it looks way to clean

The intake is masked over at the moment and the exhaust will have plenty of staining. The other metal work will have a dark dirt wash over as it will be easier to get it out of the cross hatching - There is method to my madness you know and still plenty to do before I start weathering it

The pin wash by itself looks exactly as it should Lee. You did it perfectly.
The reason that it may look to subtle is normally you add a pin wash over previously applied all over washes. So they build up and show each other off a bit.
Especially if you've used different colours like and all over burnt umber wash (which is wonderful on green camo) then use a black for the pin wash.
The two colours really seem to work well together and so do the effects.
I don't know if that helped at all.
You can still add an all over light wash of burnt umber, then add another treatment of the pinwash mix that you made if you think that it needs it.
The burnt umber will also give a gentle variance to the overall green and add a slight streaking effect.

Nearly finished now

Time to sort the aerials out....

And how they will look once glued in. Will leave them to the very end otherwise I'll just end up snapping them...lol

Also started on the tracks. One pass with Ultimate Rust wash....

Quick wipe off after 20 mins....

End result....

Just got to be put on and final dust weathering to go for them.

All that's left is to put down the dust weathering, finish the aerials and the headlights and all done.

Really enjoying this build

No mate, it'll be rust colour as every picture I have shows the tips as rust

Then wheels and tracks on and a little dab with some Ultimate light dirt....
