OUCH I did that years ago with my NSR 500, I'd JUST finished it "on the kitchen table back in those days" got up to hand it to my nephew who was visiting to have a look and it just jumped out of my hands from about elbow height! And miracle of miracles only a foot rest and a bit of exhaust came off and were very quick repairs!

Oh, it's so easily done dave. I didnt even drop this from any height, it just fell over on the kick stand. I should have left the pit stand on while still working on it ! It's repaired now with a berry pin with a .6mm drill bit.

I've never tried the fluid on it's own, i've always used tape for for the paint border. You would have to try it without the tape to see what kind of edge it would leave.

Thats the last of the parts painted. I'll let them dry for a week or so before trying to polish them, although i can see it being a nightmare.

I was looking at some YouTube footage of the real thing last night, it's a pure monster! When I have the money spare I'll be getting the kit for sure!

That wasnt meant to be the finished exhaust. I was only having a play about with some alclads i had ordered the other day. I havent even trimmed the 'stubbs' from cutting off the sprue as i was fully expecting to give it the bleach treatment before doing it for real ! But i dont know now ? I'm tempted just to leave it.

Did a quick 'mock up' to see how it looks against my two favourite bikes i have done so far.
when i build the suzuki back in 2000 i remember thinking 'how can they ever do better than this beautiful bike' but in 2009 when i built the first kawasaki i remember thinking the same thing, but i think they have with the H2R. It's just so extreme looking.

Very nice builds i like the h2 exhust perhaps some one else would like to comment.i have built the nija that was a plesure to build must wait till after xmas for the h2 orders from the wife haha.

Great looking bikes! Lovely clean work. The GSXR looks tiny compared to that beast of an H2. I agree with Paul about the exhaust, looks real.

I'm blown away with the possitive comments guy's

The ZX RR is another great kit that you wont be dissapointed with. I'm sure paul has built the same kit but with a lot of AM stuff, even the chain set ? I havent seen it close up but it must look out of this world !

Gary, that was a good shout with the alclad sepia

i thought the tamiya smoke/clear yellow was the same thing but i was wrong so thanks for that heads up. The other alclad colour i used was violot, i had used the tamiya clear red/blue for years but wanted to try the alclad. The blue and red were still the tamiya paint

Of coarse, i was forgeting about the picture.

i've just been mad busy at work with the dry/mild weather so not the usuall whole month of december at home modeling every day but i did manage to finish the H2R. Here are the finished pictures.

I'd like to try and get better pictures at some point, there just wasnt enough natural light today. Maybe the next clear day. I think i've said this before but pictures just dont do this kit justice it's a thing of beauty !

i've really enjoyed doing a bike again after the few aircraft lately, so much so i'm wondering if i can squeeze this in before the end of the year. I finish up on thursday untill the 9th of january.

Lovely bike mate, well done. I've got this bike in the stash, I've got the Zero Paints H2R kit for it when I eventually get round to doing it. Am I right in saying you used the Tamiya Clear Blue, then the Alclad Violet, then the Tamiya Clear Red on the exhausts, I take these paints worked fine together. I've never used Alclad paints yet.

When you start the Honda RC213V take care with the decals, the darker ones for some reason are extremely brittle, I eventually ordered a new set of the U.K. supplier.

yeah, thats correct with the paint for the exhaust It came out better than i expected and
the alclads seem to dry almost right away, there were no problems using them with the tamiya acrylics. Yeah, thanks for the heads up with the decals i will take care with them.

Looking at the masking seals in the kit it looks quite a complex paint job ?

The H2R turned out brilliantly John fantastic finish and the exhausts look stunning great job, are the Pedrosa decals in the Honda kit as well or just Marquez? I couldn't bring myself to build a Marquez machine lol.

Thanks gary, yeah, it's just the Marquez decals that are supplied in the kit

There seems to be a fair bit of work painting the body panels compared to most of the bikes i've done in the past. Here's a picture of the masking seals.

I think it was your mad max 747 thread we were talking about at the time ? It's the mind-set i've used when being overwhelmed or as you quite rightly say getting bogged down at times. I'm chuffed to bits scott that you remembered it at all let alone if it has had a positive outcome in anything you apply it to.
