It may not look it - but the photos below equal over 3 hours work on the BTR. The turret is now 99% complete, just got the KVPT support trough and the PE barrel clamp and it will be 100%.

All the bare plastic (lift eyes etc) have been touched in via brush leaving the water drive and PE mesh deck cover to be done next time I have 4BO Green in the airbrush.

Saw a couple BTR-60's in Grenada in 83. One at the airport was deserted and the other further inland did not survive.

Your's is looking really nice, keep it up.

Pending delivery of the silk top coat for the Ural its back to the BTR!!
Turret is now complete. First of the hatches are on, and the first of the vehicle tools. Jerry cans are part-painted - 4 fuel cans, 2 water (back in the day it was common practice to designate the water cans by filling-in the strengthening pattern with white) and its rare to find the same webbing used in NATO for securing straps. Most Soviet vehicles used leather - hence the brown.

Nice.
Nearly grabbed a BTR-80 a couple of days ago, but my wallet had the last say. We've got a lot of expenses coming up. Wife's best friends 60th a 1000km trip 1 way, wife's birthday at just before and the pool has been a steady drain lately. Nieces wedding ( that's a nice 1200km drive 1 way) is 3 weeks after that.

How did the garage roof go ? All fixed and up to spec's ?

Cracked on tonight, another batch of teeny weeny PE that had the air turning blue again. But end of the session the BTR is 95% complete. Some of the paint needs finishing, notably the swim vane and the foot rungs. Then its a case of waiting for the silk top coat again. Both this job and the Ural + 2 x D30's are waiting on that....

(Wheels look wonky because they aren't stuck onto the stub axles, just placed on loosely.)

Wheels are on. Decals are on. Lights are fitted. It just needs a coat of silk top coat over the decals when they have dried and then I am calling this BTR-60 done.

The Trumpeter one? Got that here in the stash together with the BTR-80.

Made a start on the 2 x ammo crates. Did some digging on google and the colours are the best match - overall there's at least 6 different shades of green around the one I used. Soviet era dyes and colour pigments truly left much to be desired....
Image

I figure these two will finish the dio off so once they are completed and the gun "dirtied up" it will be complete.
That will just leave the Ural+trailed D30. Once the crates for that arrive they can be assembled and that also "dirtied up".
