Hello fellow modelers !
Hope you're all doing well and enjoying summer ! Yes I'm still here and the project is still alive even tough lots is keeping me away from it since the beginning of spring.
The last time I did an update I was about to leave for my vacation. But just before that, I had time to apply a variety of colors as modulation\preshading for the upcoming white part of the plane.

I used a different variety of browns and tans over an off-white that's a bit dirty looking... AK RC one that is quite on the beige tone. Finish that the morning before taking the plane for beautiful Paris.
We headed to the airport quite early as the Montreal Airport at that moment was in chaos !! We were quite lucky. No problem on our side. The plane was a bit late but we had time to take lots of drinks before with a couple of friends who where also going to Paris, on a different flight. And met with them for a nice evening out.
But what a beautiful city ! A Place I would live in if I had the chance ! My girlfriend being half French, she had been there quite a few time and knew a few tricks to get on the Parisian good side
We had the chance to have a nice appartment near the Quartier Latin

Where we discovered this place :

It's the equivalent of the Natural science museum in NY, located in a beautiful place called le Jardin des Plantes, quite off the tourist track as it's mostly Parisian or French tourist that hang there. It was one our beloved place and now even on our to-do-list. That place adds up to all the beautiful well taking care off garden and parks, like the Jardin des Tuileries or les Jardin Royal (wow !) or even better la Place des Vosges. Victor Hugo lived there for a while. All beautiful places to stop and take time to appreciate the city.
Being the nice people we are

we were quite lucky to get a free priority access to this beautiful place :

THe Panthéon ! Where lots of great French are buried. We got in free all because we helped out a lady with a few questions and she had extra passes. It wasn't on our agenda to visit the interior as they are so many places to see... and the costs add up quite quickly !
Unfortunately, a dream of mine was impossible as it's still ongoing repair after the fire

But still beautiful to look at ! As his everything in this city ! Every corner there's a nice thing to see or an another view of monument

And speaking of beautiful place everyone got to see once in their lifetime Versailles ! WOW !!! Simply astonishing as no words or pictures can translate the beauty of it

And when you are royalty and you're tired of the everyday life you can always escape to the cottage !

That is the Petit Trianon, a small place built for Marie Antoinette where she had lakes, forest and a farm for her pleasure to get away from all the formalities of court.
But when you truly want to get away... why not go to one of you're other castles!!!

Almost as beautiful as Versailles, Fontainebleau, where Louis XIV grew up and dream of Versailles. And where Napoleon lived. A few days after that, it was time to get back to reality at home. First off, was to get my dog, Maïka, from the shelter. She was quite tired of all the fun she had running and playing in the woods.

But on the side of that...they was let's say an incident that I discovered in my work room...

A fallen bookcase, that on top of was the bin where I keep all my Pfalz part
My son had taken care of getting all the parts on the floor and luckily nothing was broken !! Only a mark on my top wing and a broken handle on the engine that will easily be glue back in place.
It felt down from one of the cat trying to get to the above window, who manage at the same time to knock off my Lego Slave I

I'll have to disassemble it and get it back together.
But a quick return to modeling. I continued on the mottling of different colors but this time for the red part of the plane. Sorry no pictures. And, yes, again, it was time to leave for an another vacation ! First off, a blackjack trip in the US, where I saw that strange thing :

Yes ! it's a dog ! a service dog supposedly ...And yes, I did win on my trip.
Back home, with my son, it was time for him to finally graduate to a blue belt in karate !

I was quite proud of him because I worked quite hard to obtain this one. Almost gave it all up and he's one of the youngest (8 years old) with this belt in his school
Then it was time for a small vacation with my son. First off to a beautiful train museum.

It was quite astonishing to see all those trains...more then a hundred different sort. After that, off to the zoo.. we all love animals here.

We were unlucky being the only bad temperature in august but still lots of fun... and no it's not a real girafe !

They was a lego exposition at the same time.
If you kept up with me all the way up to here, back to modeling... It was time to paint the white. I had trouble finding the right white... they were all either too bright, too beige or to grey... but I stumble on a bottle of Vallejo Model color off-white that was exactly what I was looking for ! But I hate Vallejo ! Even more the Model Color range for spraying.. so I did a few test and found that it work pretty good with Mr Leveling Thinner... but still not great.

I polish the paint as it was too rough to my liking and don't know why but it first came out grayish... so I had to put more coats on and lost in the process most of my preshading. May be because of the black primer ?...But I still am happy with the white. I have a few spots that I have to spray again because of hairs in the paint or spatter while spraying. You can also see what I did for the upcoming red.
I hope to correct everything this weekend and let it cured good for the upcoming masking for the red. But that will be after another vacation next week, another blackjack trip to Atlantic City ! let's hope we win big this time as a landmark is coming.
Take care everyone and thank you for reading all of it ! Hope I wasn't boring !
