Time to post more progress pics, I have been busy in this base so there will be quite a few pics.

Observation post was made from a double layer of card, the inside was drawn with pencil lines to show the brickwork and will be painted with a white wash so the lines show, the outer surface will be covered in DAS modelling clay.





The outer wall was then painted, a cross beam added to support the roof and the stair landing made from balsa.

Base covered with box wall filler ( never use ready mixed as it contains cellulose and will melt the polystyrene), mixed with PVA and cheap acrylic paint.



While plaster going off I positioned the OP in place and lightly pressed it into the wet surface to get its footprint and the removed it for the base to dry. Meanwhile I gave the OP an oil based wash also the wooden stairs





Once base was dry I gave the concrete hardstanding a paint with some old Humbrol concrete colour and the earth area with an acrylic mix



This was then given various washes, oil based and acrylic based, until I was happy, then when dry an Artist's oils dry-brushing

Figures added to the OP, two from the MiniArt British Officers set and the other from the French Civilians set. I made a table from balsa and added a couple of spec. books and a larger folder on the table.



Roof added from home-made corrugated sheeting, Greenline grass tufts added and Realistic Water in the low areas



The base given a dusting and rub of MiG pigments, the remaining figure fixed in place. The OP roof still needs some rust applied and a few sandbags added to stop it blowing off.



The lower areas on the Tortoise given a pigment Dusting







Will post pics of the finished job in a couple of weeks after I have purchased the sandbags.

That is outstanding work!! Completely believable. The figures in the tower really work it for me, the civi looks like he might be some civi contractor or an intelligence officer of some kind. The rest of the boys are pure awesome!!!

Mikey I used Pie dish foil on a Jig I made from Coffee Stirrers and thanks mate

Purchased some sandbags for the roof from Andy Preston at Trackpads



I tied one end with cotton and carefully trimmed the other end, these were then immersed in dilute PVA and pressed lightly in place on the roof and left for a couple of days to dry.





I now have to paint and weather them.
