hi guys
well here it is ,the final update for this build
it has taken me some time as there are about 400 decals on it and that made for slow progress

but enough of that here are the final steps for this build

Image
Image
Image
so it all started with the decals
i had a lt of trouble with the vegabonds (banners on the sides) than didn't want to line up like i wanted but in the end the only spot that showed some miss placing of these banners was covered by a smaller decal
i only use microscale's micro sol when decalling
this helps the decal to adhere to the surface better

Image
once the decals where dry i applied a second coat of future
then i applied washes
the neutral was used on the white surfaces , the dark on the grey surfaces and the green on the bombs

Image
it then looked like this

Image
the pylons and missles where also covered with the washes

Image
Image
Image
then using AK interactive thinner i removed all the excess wash to get the effect that i wanted
i didn't aim for a very dirty or grimy plane but wanted to highlight the recessed details

Image
once the wash had dried,i sprayed the parts and plane with vallejo matte varnish
then i started to glue on the plane
i left off the missles and bombs at first because i would snap them off anyway

Image
the sidewinders where the first missles to go on

Image
the mk82 or 83 (not sure wich one) bombs where next

Image
and finally the sparrows where added

Image
the instructions called for the last part of the tail to be painted in red
but after checking a few photo's i found that it is a light
so instead of H3 i used H90 (i think) clear red wich was brushed on and then the part was installed

Image
the seats where put in the cockpit

Image
and the final step , the canopies where installed and the extendable steps where glued on for the third time as it is a bit easy to snap off the fuselage

and that was it
this build is finished as i am not planning for a base or anything like it
i want to thank everyone for watching and all the kind comments that where made during this build
untill next time
cheers Mark

Really excellent thread Mark and a great build of a neat looking kit. Just a few stencils on it too!

Yeah it's luke they wanted writing on each panel
Probably to keep maintenance easy or something like that
But i'm glad it is done and i will see how it goes with the next plane that i'll build
