Thank you all for the nice comments and visiting this build thread, really appreciate it!
Well, time is come to finish this epic build and wrap up and close this thread.
It was a roller-coaster ride for sure, not an easy build.
I had a lot of "first time's" and "how to solve this?" moments, but I loved it all the way.
"Just building a plane" I said..... "Not to big" I said.... "Nice catapult kit" I said shortly after that!
lol.... Any way, I painted a figure for I think it needed a figure to show the scale of the catapult and plane.
It's a resin figure of a German pilot from MAIM models.
The last step was weathering the catapult.
I used Rust wash and rust streaks from MIG.
A brown filter, and Grime and oil from MIG.
And that's all folks!
I'm going over to taking some final pics to reveal the finished plane later today on this page.
Thank you for dropping by, and hope to see you soon in the reveal section.
:Stay safe, and model on!
cheers2:

This is probably one of the most fantastic pieces that I've seen you build Frans.
Elaborate and beautiful. I just finished watching Sing the Bismark the other day to haha.
Absolutely superb work bud.
I can't wait to see those reveals.

Thank you very much!
I'm proud to say that this is one of my best builds indeed.
Although I'm not a plane builder...lol
I will post the reveal pics in a moment, they are uploading as we speak
Stay tuned

Astonishing work!
Completely awesome Frans, the backgrounds help with the setting. Especially the last one.
Well done buddy.

Great work Frans
A really good piece and defently one to be proud of
I makes me want to work on my plane now although there is some armor in the way on the bench but you can't have it all i guess
But i am looking forward to seeing it for real
Maybe i get to put my (by then) shiny chunk of American metal next to it
It happened with your Marder and Seb's Panther already last year

Thank you Mark.
I'm glad that this Arado is finished now.
Had a lot of fun, but it took me a bit longer than I wanted....lol
You will see it in real at SMC, although I'm not 100% happy with it myself.
There are some small errors at the catapult, and I hope that it will not bring down the plane.
Maybe you shiny American metal will distract just enough to cover up those small errors!
I'm curious to see Seb's entry's as well.

We will see if the shine helps
I plan on filling the gaps today after i flat coated my armor builds
And then i will take some time to work on the Thunderbolt
Just to the point that filling is done and all the external parts are on
I heared the method of liqified plastic takes a few days to dry so i can start sanding next week
And there is a ton of metal work left with the pe gunbay covers
Wich are pretty big and thin
Oh and a large amount of .50 cal rounds to bend
Just don't be worried about small errors
Modellers are their own worse critics

No worries, photos with background is a matter of taste.
But I am planning of taking some pics with a black background as well, and post then here.
Thanks mate

O dear.... I was planing to take this model with me at the scale model challenge this year. But I'm afraid it has to wait for another year..... the reason for that is that I've just bought a house andI will be moving and renovating it in October when that competition takes place. So I will have to skip a year. At the bright side, now Mark en Seb will have more chance to win!
Good luck guys, from the bottom of my hart.

So you have bought the house
Congrats mate
A bit of a shame that you will miss out on the SMC but somethings are more important although i told my boss he can jump through burning hula hoops to try to get me to work that day i will be in Veldhoven
I does save me some competition
Now to sabotage all the others
But there is always next year

Indeed, family and personal matters come's before the hobby.
I will miss going to SMC though, seeing friends and taking part.
And of course the traders section!
Saved money to buy me some new kits there.... a well..... there's always next year...
And then I will DESTROY the competition!
