If you can improve your work with every build then what you're doing is a success. You don't need a competition to show that.

Good advice there Mike! Like anything though mate, I wish I could produce my work even half as good as yours id be happy. Does seem a shame that people who are not on here can see how good you are.

My paint arrived today so my hope is that I'll finish this up today.
Unless I think of something else that I want to add.

I did end up adding a bit ... I painted the convoy light on the nashorn (I forgot it) and the tail lights and spot light on the truck... I forgot them too.
I also added some broken glass under the windows and I cleaned up some of the snow on the bricks.
Oh yeah... I also painted all of the ammunition with the AK True Metal paints.

I used Old Bronze to paint the shells as the brass seemed too bright to me when I was ordering the paints. I only ordered copper and the old bronze, since I just wanted to see what they were like.

They were weird paints... smelled like really cheap soap. I hadn't realised that they were a suspended wax emulsion. So I was really surprised by how they painted. They didn't thin with any of the thinners that I had on hand, but I didn't really expect them too since they're wax.
Mr. Thinner, X20A, Vallejo Thinner, Ultimate thinner, lacquer thinner, mineral spirits, water, turpenoid.
All of it either caused it to separate badly or curdle like milk.
I'm sure there's a way to thin it though. It was really thick and I would prefer that it was thinner when I painted with it. But that's my own personal taste.
Still, they painted ok and they're also buffable, which was another surprise to me. I waited about 10-20 minutes and gave each round a rub with some tissue paper on the end of my finger and they shined up like new pennies.
Wonderful stuff!!!
The finish is super delicate though, so they need sealing with either a gloss or matte varnish.

I'll most likely order more of these to replace those terrible vallejo model air metallics.

And for the first time in about ten years I have nothing on my bench.
I've shelved the fletcher as scrap and there's nothing else on the go.
We'll fix that soon enough.

Outstanding build coen, seen your you tube video very nice. You have my curiosity up on the AK paint, do you have a closeup picture of the painted ammo? again outstanding build.

Absolutely beautiful looking ammo coen, getting the right color on ammo can be tricky, but it does come down to taste, gold may work for one builder may not work for another. Anyway thanks for the upclose photo's, now I know for sure I'm getting that paint. Awesome.
