Thanks for the warning Paul, appreciate it - I'll be going back over your build thread on the Mig and will be paying VERY close attention.
Defo keeping the Evolution - can never have too many toys to play with!

Sorry for the long gaps between updates
The f16 has now been decaled, Glossed and washed. Matt coated and the canopy unmasked.
The decals were shocking, needing a few days of work to get them to settle properly. It was matt coated with alclad matt clear and all that needs doing is the undercarriage doors and the wheel attaching. Thats the actual aircraft done then. Just need to do the obscene amount of ordinance that comes with the kit. This has been put to one side for a while whilst i concentrate on other modelling subjects.

Holy Macaroni, that is quite simply a work of art Paul and very very inspirational to me who owns the kit already.
I have this kit but will hold off building longer than I have already now

Took mental notes along the way reading (especially losing canopy moulding lines) , can manage that now, panel shading is something I still need to try.
Cant wait to see this bird finished with all weapons loaded.
WTG Paul

Ok the final update to the build
So i started on the ordinance, which has taken me about 2 weeks to do, they are like little kits in themselves. Lots of filling, masking, decaling (over 80) on them. Then a wash and matt coat to finish them, 3 fuel tanks, 6 missiles and lots of pylons.
All glued together, i changed my mind on the GBU bombs and decided to go with the harm 88 missiles instead
Primed and base coated and some masked ready for the fins to be painted
These were then cleared with alclad aqua gloss, which is great stuff ill no longer be using john sons clear, then decaled.
Everything washed and matt coated ready to assemble
Its simply an awesome kit, I've enjoyed every bit of building and would recommend it to anyone, its not cheap but well worth it. I started this the 2nd November last year and its been a superb build
Now getting pics of this thing is a problem as it doesn't fit on my base or in my background, so heres a load of different shots ill get some better ones for the gallery, it also doesn't fit in my bloody display case

You should be very proud of your final product - superb! Cheers!

I enjoy viewing your progress to final product. I wish I had the time to devote to modeling that I once did - parenting takes most of my otherwise free time these days. As a result, all of my builds take at least 6 months! But I'm not complaining.
Just you wait, you'll see when your little one arrives - everything, and I mean
everything, takes a back seat, which is how it should be. Luckily my little girl (8 in April) is getting old enough that some of that time is coming back to me.
Fleebay, eh? I will have to investigate that - $60 is a fantastic price.
Again - fantastic build! Quite impressive.

Mind blowing

Would you recommend a Matt finish, or Satin for those jet fighters?
