Tamiya has announced in advance of Shizuoka that they will be releasing a new kit in 1/35, 30057 British Tank Mk.IV Male, in the future. No boxart available yet but expect more will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.

Brilliant! I think they have announced a figure set to go with it too. Also, a far east model shop is listing for preorder Tamiya branded reboxings of the Tasca/Asuka Firefly VC and Easy Eight Sherman tanks, again with figures. If correct, these will be nice sets

The male had long sticky out things.

Basically , I think it it the armament. The sponsons on the male were armed with 6pdr cannon. The differently shaped sponson on the femail tank was armed with forward and backward facing machine guns.
