Back again. I had to take my Mum to Perth for a medical test so I thought beauty while I;m there I'll pick up some paint and a kit a friend has been holding. Slight postage saving




The seat belts, wheels and mask all ordered from Bna and the Colt bought off Fb in Perth too as it happens.


Now just have to figure how best to assemble these wheels. Panzer art doesn't make it fool proof.

I got in touch with the 3d printing guys I met at a show a few weeks ago and ordered up some more figures & accessories - most of these are for a future project but I suspect a couple of pieces will make their way onto the current StuG build

Oh very nice digger! I at one point had that JS-1 in my stash, it seemed like a pretty decent kit so hopefully you enjoy building it!

Haven’t bought squat in ages, so felt good to just say F it I want all of these
As I check prices online, I did very well with these at the LHS

Nothing like a little retail therapy and hell I'm way past worrying about finishing all the kits in my stash. It's fun and worth every penny.

Ok so here’s the story
I went to the sprinkler supply store to get the pipe and fittings I need to tune up the garden watering system
Well of course they are closed up for Victoria Day long weekend and Home Depot won’t have shite
I am halfway between home and the model store, gas is up $0.05 /L
So naturally to conserve fuel, I go to the model store for the brass squares I forgot yesterday
The motorcycle was accidentally attached to the brass…what can you do???

After sticking to predominantly WW2 aircraft, I thought a change might do me good. So I bought some more flying things (Can you guess the theme?). I have had a look at previous threads here and found an old tie fighter one by Scruffy that had red tinted glass, which looked brilliant, so might try that for the Darth Vader one.

The 2 plastic cups are airbrush cup filters. Been getting a few lumps out of my old bottles, mostly from around the top where the paint gets loosened when unscrewing the top.


Off to the markets On Sunday where I have a line on some cheap kits....that I absolutely need.....
AND the missus is preprimed that I might be getting something if I take her there....

Was looking for a ship model but this train caught my eye big time, and was 1/2 price, so yep.
Aoshima 1/45 electric locomotive

Then a few days later I go back to the shop and no sooner than I have one foot through the door one of the guys who works there hands me this, straight up, no chit chat, just bam, take it - they know me well.
A properly priced re-release of a kit I was gearing up to buy for an exorbitant amount of cash. Thank you tamiya.

Very nice. I built a 1/6 resin racing bike last year, and yes, very big model. That one will look great when finished.

Then t-62 comes with the eyebrows ...
The figures are a 2013 tooling so not exceptional, but pretty decent. Some flash present and moderate seam lines. Faces have ears and some expression. I'm happy enough with them and the weapon sprue is really nice.

Wow digger, that's a bunch of stuff to support your modern race car builds (just kidding). There you go again with some "different" stuff. I think the half track is neat, but 900 parts+!!?

And speaking of racers, that is on heck of a present COR, a 1/12 JPS Lotus 78.

Scott, I had a very similar bike when younger but is was a 125 yellow mono shock that I raced against my friends Honda Elsinore 125. Great memories looking at that kit of yours. Regarding the other bike, a V-Max... my brother-in-law had the first year they were made. That is a brute of a real bike and the original Power Cruiser. That V-Max power kicks in almost like a turbo, and you better be ready when it does.

For me just more paints and weathering stuff for the Sherman. Oh!, and some 1/35 figures for my ordered AFV Club AF35342 1/35 British Churchill Mk.IV AVRE Bridge Layer. I built one in 1/72 scale many years ago (still have it). Photos when they arrive.

Certainly plenty of practice involved in painting a boat load of figures.
