I wanted to try the dry brushing technique with the mule test bed and many of my brushes are FUBAR’d,
So Amazon had some brushes on sale for $25 and next day delivery. Sold!

More Formula 1 Tamiya collection from me
This kit came from Japan and again it’s box and papers smell musty, mildew and mouldy like the seven up car did
You can see the white on the box isn’t crisp and clean, kind of mottled in areas.
So it has had a wipe down of bleach spray from a cloth and everything opened up and taken out to vent and sit in a sunny window for a while
Good news is kit has replacement Shunko decals that look good
Second arrival is a vinyl sticker of my spirit animal….Slow Poke Rodriguez
He is Speedy Gonzalez’s slower cousin

Did that kit come from Iwakuni? I saw this hobby store a couple years ago when I was there. Very musty inside as the outside hints at.

Always wanted to go to Japan and this pic jars some what. I had this preconceived idea that they as a people were a lot neater, tidy and nothing was allowed to look run down . Old yes, but not like this.
Still love the pic though.

Ah, didn't mean to discourage folks from Japan. 99.85% of the place was pristine! This spot was truly a one off of not looking immaculate. Japan is amazing, everything is very proper and polite. Even small school kids (I'd guess 4-7 year olds) took the train to school with no chaperones. An incredibly safe country. Really an amazing place.
Due to COVID considerations at the time I had to quarantine and didn't go to Kyoto or Osaka with my friends. When I finally could leave quarantine I went to Miyajima by myself and had a great time! Really cool aquarium with local fish and eels that I'm not used to (I'm from Texas, so it was very different and neat!) Miyajima felt a tiny bit touristy but there were way more locals than foreigners. I felt right at home. When I did find an English speaker we had really pleasant conversations and they mainly wanted to practice English with a native speaker. The street meat was also different and interesting.
Even with me speaking only a few words of Japanese I felt very welcome at most places. Really a great country. I think one of my most memorable memories was trying to drive on the wrong side of the road (for a US guy.)
A spot at Miyajima
Street meat
One of the funny things of Miyajima is the local deer are very domesticated-ish. One was head butting me in the rear end wanting me to give it food. LOL!

A mixed bag showed up...
I have a plan for this involving some adaptations...
Just because...
And these...
When I saw that they were under £8 each I suspected that they weren't going to be the grown-up kits I was hoping for but went ahead anyways... here's the contents of one of the boxes...

Yeah those Dune kits are really small. Probably build both in a hr, but the Box art is neat.

Awesome kit! Did one not long ago.
I got the .5mm fan spray tip kit for my Grex AB today. This should make spraying the B-58 easier.
And some PE for one of the many F-86 kits I have. LOL

I haven't been able to build anything for over a year. I've almost got my workspace cleaned up to make it more attractive for working but I'm still a bit slow to get going.
So, what do we do when this happens?
Go to a model show and buy something.
This looked interesting.
I live in Vermont and have Air National Guard decals for Block 25. This kit comes with a load of weapons to choose from!

Some really good finds everyone.
Hey all, you do know that MENG has also produced the DUNE KITS in 1/72 scale with movable wings and landing gear, right? Just for a glimpse check them out on Evil Bay.
Hey DBMiller, that F-16C looks N-I-C-E!
For me, I just got a wheels update package for my 1/18 Harrier.
Still looking for a quality 1/18 pilot for it (?) without breaking the bank. As I understand it, there is someone on the Large Scale Planes forum that has made a cockpit in resin that is a wonderful upgrade over the kit. If anyone has a lead, please let me know...

Crikey a 1/18 Harrier even though it's a smallish plane...THAT'S big. You'll be able to go all out on the details and even install a working jet..

This thing arrived.
Looks pretty cool and quick tests says it functions and sprays
Have ordered another quick disconnect from Amazon for it so I can pop on all of my other brushes.
Have not used it in anger yet with paint, will try and do that and get a video review up maybe on the weekend

Looks interesting! If it performs well under test it looks ideal for the little jobs that would be a pain firing the main compressor up for.

Been looking forward to this new tool, hoping it's going to be a good one. In the past I haven't been impressed with Trumpeter tools in 80% of cases.
It looks good being made from solid aluminium ( weighty ) and it is of a good size being 16cm in length. Has a rule etched into it ( very useful ) and a end stop. So we shall see.
