I built the Dragon one last year (reissued by Das Werk) and it wasn't exactly straightforward - the kit was decent enough but the instructions were 100% wrong in places.

Hasegawa sea plane a a rare relatively recent addition to their stable and a fancy double ended brush with steel wire at one end and very stiff natural bristles at the other. I bought it for some clean up jobs.

Ive seen a Hasegawa plane very similar to that boxed as a detail up set, lots of pe etc, and have been eyeing it off now and then.

I like Tomcats 8.8cm Flak Track a lot too.

And a toy cardboard build of the Titanic with lights! Jarrod and my daughter built it together (without any glue). Now they need to go back and glue it as the tabs are coming loose. Honestly, gluing it and using a few colored markers on the seams, and it would not look too bad.

That Titanic is a stand out I thought it was very good before reading a word of the explanation.

Funny you expressed the same sentiments as another friend about the tracked Kubelwagen. I do have another friend who built the 823, now bear in mind he hates fiddly and these Kubelwagens are so small. He loved building it and would do another. Maybe I might squeeze in building mine before the Spitfire....

I have often thought about building one of those Bronco's or the Bird dog.

I'm not a aggressive fella I just liked the sign
My air hose developed a leak despite me flooding the braided cloth with Ca and slowing the leak substantially it didn't stop it. Did manage to finish the cannon though. So a new one was ordered from Hobbytech.
I bottle of authentic sms auscam for a armoured car still to be built.
A couple of rollers to make stone walls...yes they do work and look good.
The other tools are for holding sand paper and sanding curved surfaces without creating flat spots. They may be less clumsy with flat thumb nuts.

Antistatic brushes are a great idea they make clean up before painting a bit easier and bottle openers are a must I wouldn't be without mine. I got fed up trying to open bottles that were stuck hard. Cleaning the thread before putting the caps back on didn't really help as there was always a wet cap to go back on and it was too big a job to clean that too.

Agree on the paint pot opener. A real force multiplier if ever there was one.

My one came with a soft rubber cup you put the pot in so its easier to get purchase. Genius. Its not quite up there with Tamiya Extra Thin cement but its a vital item to have in the armory

Ohh that looks very nice.
I bought one of these early types in which the single fan had a 3 cubic m capacity and while ok it really needed to shift more air to be effective and this one of yours has 2 fans and capable of shifting 5 cubic m. It should be really good.

Excellent choice and a question do those in that boxing also have the gun limber ?

I know why your excited because I bought them both when they were in separate boxing's and they're peculating slowly up the build queue.
I was going to fix the wheels on the 8 inch and redo the roof for the tractor as a minium, but more likely to replace steering and upgrade the front wheel as well.

Just got a Tamiya 1/32 SCALE SUPERMARINE SPITFIRE off eBay for a price I didn't have to sell a kidney for!!! So pumped!

This is the first plane I've ever had and will definitely post some pics when it arrives - mainly so you guys can suck it!!!! (okay, that was a bit aggressive, sorry ), am really excited for this one.

Wife and I just went to France this past May and spent over a week in the Normandy area going to all the 'must do's' and was waffle'ing between this and a German or American tank (as we saw all of those in museums). It was an amazing experience.

The wife went to Hobbycraft the other day and came back with these - apparently they were doing a 3 for 2 deal.


Made a start on the Spitfire, its going together very nicely BUT - one of the under carriage legs is a short-shot!! Seems to be a recurrent theme with Airfix recently. There might be enough to work with though, its the end that goes into the locating hole in the wing.

Went to the IPMS National Convention and picked up a few things.

1. Tamiya newly announced 5cm Anti-Tank Gun (Pak38). According to one of the vendors, this won't hit the street for sales until November.

2. Eduard 15,000th P-40N. It had the convention logo on the box art, so I had to have one.

3. Value Gear stowage for German and US Armor. Nice dude, even gave me some loose freebie stowage at various scales.

4. Sprue Brothers sanding sticks. Nice people in their booth gave me a handful. It was very much appreciated!

5. Squadron grass tufts that sort of look like dandelions. Figured I'd test them out on some bases. Might be a cheaper solution to Games Workshop or Army Painter.

Overall a great haul and show!

No nothing about building planes, and probably have zero paint to make a start - but will definitely be trying my hand at this one fairly soon (fingers-crossed). Didn't realize how big the 1/32 scale is - but hopefully can build it into a nice display. Would like to build it in 'flight' mode as it comes with a stand.

Also, you guys probably know all this - but this kit comes with a boat load (a'hem!!) of extras. Has three different wing build styles, photo-etch, and color book with a ton of pics, and more... Crazy what it comes with!! Can see why these are usually pretty expensive. Got lucky with this one...

Well, digger, we will find out regarding the chrome markers shelf life. They were only $2.49 USD for all three, so it wasn't a deal breaker even if they have a short life span. I had never seen the Tamiya skin tone accent before either. It will be another "we will see" item.

That 1/32 Spit should be a benchmark kit, looking forward in seeing the build thread on that one.

I'm adding a couple more items, one for my recent F-111 kit, and another for my recent 1/16 Pak40 kit.
