Digger, I almost snagged that R-35 kit myself the other day, and a Somua by Tamiya as well.

Looks like you'll have some French armor fun one day

More future plans - a set of BEA decals for a Rotodyne project. Actually meant for a 1/72 Viscount but they will do nicely. :)

I got some paint supplies yesterday
Image

I needed them as I went through each of my paint pots and added solvent (MLT or water depending), a mixing ball if needed, stirred and cleaned up the lids
Definitely found some that needed this solvent and had to throw a couple out that the lids were fully stuck
A good idea to do this, especially to colours you don't open up much. I would have lost a few to drying up if I didn't do this

Image

I did each pot here (68 Tamiya, 15 Citadel) and developed a blister on my hand from opening and closing so many

You will save yourself both frustration and a fortune.
I was really surprised at the thick, terrible state of many of these paint pots!

What you need and is better than adding thinner is this marvellous stuff. Only discovered it myself this year.
It's a Mr Color product.
Replenishing agent................https://hobbytechtoys.com.au/products/m ... 0936145569

It's a marvel, just add some to the the jar and even hardened paint will be rejuvenated. Not for true acylic paints though.
Also when opening jars it is by far the best way is to use the Mr Hobby jar opener set. It takes away all that effort and frustration to easy open those jars. It will open Tamiya and Mr Hobby, one of those must have tools.

Yes I used that yellow handle and silicone base. But you still need hand power and grip!

Trying out this form of old school glue…been using metal tube version, stringy as hell

Received this as a birthday present last week

Have tried it out on a scrap of sprue and it does the job - will try it on the sanding I need to do on the Millennium Falcon when I get back to it.

Had one of those for nigh on 6 months. It works very well and gives a nice flat finish!!:

This first is for a project I hope to start in January. I'm working on an F-15 from the Massachusetts Air National Guard that I should finish soon so I can move onto an F-100, also from the Mass ANG. These decals will work for all but the markings on the tail - which I can put together from other decals I have.

Image

For some reason this brand of airbrush has come up several times recently on Facebook and Youtube. And, since, as we all know, a new airbrush makes you a better builder. Two new airbrushes should make me awesome!

Image

Image

Image

They sent a free paint along with the airbrushes.

If your after a tough sand-able acrylic primer, try VMS'S NEW one. The only thing is the AB cup requires a little more elbow grease to get her clean than your used too.

Christmas GOODIES :)

Image
Image

Sorry for the upside down pic...it's a cordless rotary tool from my son
The missus got me the nippers after a slight hint :)....My dispae set wasn't working well as the blades never closed properly on the end leaving a small gap and they weren't parallel which together didn't give a good experience. They were my second set having dropped the first one ( which were good) and breaking the point off.
Merry Xmas all and a happy New year

I gave one of mine a helping hand too. My password to BNA and told them to pick something from the pre -prepared basket

The vice and PE folding tool all wrapped into one seems a good idea and I've heard the dremel cordless are very nice.

Picked these up in a little used hobby shop in Osaka Japan recently.

Tamiya 1/12 312T and T4.
I love these Tamiya big scale cars.

These may need new decals, but both kits cost just over $100usd....for both!! so I'm not complaining.
They're usually around 200usd each ... each!!! on eBay.
The shop documents the parts by ticking off the sprue sets in the instructions, and these are in good condition for nearly 50 year old kits. The tyres a bit sticky but ok. The guy at the shop was super helpful, no English but was a great conversation.

Really pleased to have found these. They just have to survive the trip back to Australia and I'm happy.

The chopper was just a great deal as it included a comprehensive Eduard external detail up set and was also a great price.
Academy Blackhawk 1/35. It looks like a banger of a kit. Can't wait to get into all of these kits.
