I built this Airfix kit, but in the American variant; it’s in my portfolio. While many of the kit parts are the same, there are obviously different parts to support the GR3 version. Some of the issues I remember was poor landing bay detail and the fit of the engine cover was tricky. Part of that could’ve been my fault. I was impressed with the decal details and fit. I had a great time building mine, hope you will too.

I did the Spitfire, Me-109 and Mustang when I was a lad and one thing I remember is they were BIG!! So going to need display space for it before I start this one. Something I am chronically short of at the moment....

Back on thread though - I ordered this from the Anderson store getting on for a year ago - its finally arrived!!

My wife and I are huge Inspector Morse fans, so I was thrilled to find by chance on ebay that Tamiya kitted a mk.II Jaguar! Obviously I had to pick it up (it would have been rude not too).

I've never built a car kit before so it should be fun!

That's a nice kit, quite rare if I remember correctly.

These 1/24 scale Revell of Germany F1 kits are a fortune and I got this from Canadian seller for a comparative song.



The sprues are all in sealed bags and nothing missing or wrecked.
The decal sheet is Cartograph decals from Italy and are bight and vibrant



The box and instructions are musty. Will put them in a window with a dryer sheet inside for a week

Well another one came in…a very big box!

Fujimi Lamborghini Countach 1/16 enthusiast kit
I got this for $75 USD and $40 shipping. I see them for like $300plus shipping, so jumped on this
It had been previously started but barely. All will be fine with her, looks like everything there and only rear suspensions started

I did a reveal video and will put it together over the weekend.

Now that looks NICE - and well done on the price.
I love the look of the Countach but as a car its totally impractical - I got a chance to sit in one many years ago when I was still fairly flexible. Took me 5 minutes to get in and 10 to get out.

Got some goodies today.
I went for paint and came home with a tractor
A couple of flesh colours and I must admit I don't like the new labelling AK has come up with , it makes the paint look so cheap like you would find in a 2 dollar shop.

My turn....

I saw it with the trimaran hull and quirky design I had to get it. I think it will look strange beside the Arizona and Yamato; so in other words, it will be perfect!

Not a new stash acquisition, but I did get these for my birthday on Tuesday (plus some cash).

Got this today - as I built the other GS one in the Tamiya it occured to me it would be good basis to make a copy of the real FFR I own.



The grey boxes are 3D printed Clansman radio components - big one is various radios, small one is TUAAM's, white are antenna mounts

I popped in the RAF Museum at Cosford the other day - it was a good place to stop on my drive down from North Wales to work in Oxford. Never been there before - a nice museum if you ever get a chance to visit. I went there hoping to see the EAP, which is a cracking looking aircraft, so I had a little search on ebay afterwards...



This is the single most expensive 1/72 I've ever bought, and my first all resin kit - so should be fun.

Well this isn't all resin or that new as far as tooling goes ..2009 .
Rigging galore that will probably result in procrastination galore

Good catch digger. You should have that done over a weekend…… OK, perhaps not. Neat aircraft regardless.

I've been shopping

I sold 2 kits and acquired 4...seems fair and the missus is happy cause she only knows about the sold kits
Happy wife happy life as they say

Couple of big kits and since doing the small sub I'm not so wary of PE railings.
The Crossing is a passenger boat that sank on the way to Taiwan fleeing the communists.
You wouldn't believe the instruction book is exactly that a hard cover book in colour.



A 1/48 scale torpedo boat and I like torpedo boats that should sit nicely next to a small sea plane.


I like building military trucks ....no shiny paint to worry about.

Nice finds Digger - that Zil builds into a really nice lorry. Be carefull removing thin parts from the sprue though - the plastic ICM use seems more brittle than most.

Cheers for that tip, the parts look really nice.

Some recent purchases. I fancy spending a bit of time building some 2nd line types, and less of the combat types for a while. The Beaver I shall see if I can get some civilian decals.

That is a really nice livery and it would entice me into a build any time.

I've tried it on and found my glasses don't fit well and that was one reason for buying the other being a mask with a better face seal. I've tried the rubber ones and they don't fit me well. This one does fit very well so one for and one against it. The other bad thing I found was the wrap around feature has these cut outs for the ears and as it only has one wide strap going around the back of ones head the upper part of the strap cuts into the top of my ear...so 2 against. however they are quite comfortable on the face.
I think I should have bought this one, always tricky buying online.

After my little confidence boost with PE railings while not perfect I did get more interested in rigging and when I saw this memory wire I was interested to see how useful it might be.

Thanks for the link, I appreciate it, I did see those actually but I wanted to make something that was either American or Canadian - I might get some of those at a push though.
