Yes, I tend to use that automotive 3M putty for my filling, unless final paint is really light though the paint will still likely cover
I also do a painted layer of CA glue over the putty before a final sanding to seal any little pits or air bubbles and it hardens the putty even more

I just started my build yesterday and came across your thread. I will thank you in advance for doing all the research for me. I had this kit laying around for a long time and finally decide to build it.Yes this kit is terrible for detail and molds are sad. You did an amazing job on your build knowing how aweful this kit is.

Sure, should have some questions. I decided I did not like the look of the rear drive so I am adding aluminum driveshaft.
