Since I've only used the lathe twice in the past 5 years, I never got around to actually mounting it to the bench. Meanwhile, I've been doing more and more electronics projects, with an eye towards lighting, and possibly animating some planned builds. Unfortunately, I was having to switch back and forth between electronics work and model building, without enough bench space to have projects going in both simultaneously. What I needed was a dedicated electronics workbench, so I moved the old lathe out to the garage, chopped 6" off the bench legs, and reorganized the space as an electronics workbench:
Much better use of the space!

The main building and painting area and general lounging on the internet spot
And then finally the 3D printing spot I'm not totally happy with this side of the cave yet I need to move stuff around and find something that works well and looks nice but like I said its always changing lol hope you all like it as much as I do it'll probably change a bunch more this year but I'm sure I'll get to a place I'm happy with eventually

We have exactly the same Drier in our Garage, and am surprised how much heat it knocks out even in a draughty garage. Any problems when its on in M/C?

The blue box on the right is my little drying oven. A nice 100W light bulb helps with the drying times in the colder months.

Actually I unpacked the last box of models yesterday - the ones the removal men decided to pack for me rather than wait the 10 minutes for me to take them out to the car. Out of four only one was undamaged. They'd wrapped them in paper then scrunched it into a ball. On a sad note, I have now finished reading the whole thread, but have picked up some fantastic ideas from all the superb work areas shown. However, looking forward to more brilliant ideas in the future posts!!

Vent hood now sits on a tall desk with room for storage underneath.
