Seems like the first time in ages that I can think about what to do at the weekend instead of just arriving there in a crumpled heap and winging it!

So benchwise I'm planning on continuing the fettling of my 1/72 Opel Blitz to get that ready for primer & paint, and continuing the build of my SU-76.

Off the bench I'm planning on baking scones and need to fix a dripping tap that I've been putting off for weeks.

That's bad, mines being nasty too. exercising 3 times a day as specified. Two pandole ostero, deep heat and still don't get a full nights rest ....6 months now.
People do be careful with your back cause it's a bugger when injured.
No compo for the self employed either.

I can report that operation Scone appears to have been successful with no fatalities so far...




Bench stuff happened with both the blitz & SU-76; got the dripping tap disassembled and needed a different type of washer to the ones I had available, but at least it's no worse than when I started which is always a bonus

My accomplishment for the weekend was pee the missus off....day 1
Day 2.... got back in the good books, but then buggered up by not recognizing all she did for the day by days end.
Work wise put in a solid 26hrs break down free with no stuff ups.
Buggered up and bought the wrong kit then bought the right kit after the first one had been posted.....now have a kit to sell at a loss....

The weekend is half gone now as today was spent planting what might be the last bit depending on the rain forecast on Monday we might put in another 200acres.
So that leaves tonight and Sunday. Tonight I'm feeling a bit weary so probably watch SG1 on the telly and not much else. Tomorrow I have a pool to clean, possibly remove the toppled tree although I'm wondering if I should cut it up and on sell it to the wood turners as it is a hard wood and relatively unusual being Kalgoorlie gimlet. Very heavy and dense timber however I don't have any suitable sealer available for the ends. So that may get postponed and there is still plenty to do outside plus I still have to finish cleaning the man cave. That is a huge job on it's own. A schooner and a chin wag is way more appealing way to spend Sunday. Did you notice no time for the bench ...

Plan for weekend is:
Chiro appointment, resume/interviews on Friday + sneaking in a little LHS visit for some yellow pinstripe tape or maybe a kit??
Making dog a new leather collar...horse hide this time., Also making the ear saver things for masks out of leather with a cushioned back
Car serviced hopefully with no expensive surprises, order stupidly expensive run flat summer tires
Then more job interviews, Assorted drinking, some Ducati modelling and miscellaneous general frivolity

Well last weekend I only had Sunday, but tidied up the house yard a bit more and the inside of the house as well. No modelling of course, bought another kit. Well it started off as one kit then I realized I got the wrong one and then it was too late to change it as they posted it. So I then bought the right one and another that I'd been keen on for a while. So that one kit ended up costing me 130 bucks.....going to have to on sell the wrong one . How many M3 AND M5's do I really want....not that many I can tell you.
This weekend I told the missus I ain't working this Sunday is mine.....what will I do with it....what a can of worms that is....probably waste it .

Ps....Maybe I might build some storage for the wood work room....I got sh@*t every where...

This weekend I worked Saturday and Sunday arvo I did a little yard cleaning barrowing sand away, washed the dog and entertaining my parents as they rocked up unexpectedly as they do.
On the bench I did little ....I stretched some sprue......kinda pathetic. My bench is still not put back together properly, but hopefully today my plumbing pipe has arrived due to the good graces of a friend and I'll get my spraybooth back in place and I can put everything else back.


Update ....my plumbing arrived this morning however he bought back the wrong size. So all for nought and shall have to wait until I can get there myself.

Well we are in the fortunate position of having a five day weekend starting in about five minutes so of course the wall to wall sunshine we've had recently has now been replaced by thundery rain but that's just an excuse to stay inside at the bench right?

Hoping to get the 1/72 Opel Blitz completed and move both the Eagle transporter and SU-76 along a bit.

Oh and I've also had a request from Mrs Tomcat to do more baking...

This weekend I'm looking to hopefully have most of my Sabine Wren TIE Fighter finished up. Spent a lot of time today cleaning the bench. Namely, putting a few kits on the shelf of doom. I realized I had not been modelling at all due to lack of interest in the kits I had started. So, they'll go away for a while and get finished at a later date.

This weekend atm looks very much like WORK ! I have fertilizer to spread. If I can get a good run at it maybe I might get Sunday free and that will only leave the pool to finish cleaning. I'm about 1/2 way through that job....cleaning 12mm of mud and vegetable matter off the bottom is a long job. The filters block real quick and it becomes a stop start process until the water level drops below the skimmer box....slowly refill and repeat. After that it's a toss up build that storage unit I need in the workshop or bench time. I really need to get some bench time in so maybe that.

Hopefully I'll be getting some 1:1 scale work done on the bike! It's boggy pulling off at the lights so if the weather is nice I'll be stripping, cleaning and balancing the carbs.

I probably should bleed the brakes too as they are a little spongy, but that's the least fun you can have with a spanner in your hand, so they may be pushed back

I'v had a 3 day weekend courtesy of the weather. Can't spray when there's rain about, not that we got much 8.5mm. I spent some of that time working on the Luchs and it now has the decals on and has been pin washed. Hopefully tonight I shall get the overall wash sprayed on to tone the camo down a bit.

I have had a long, hard single day of work...and now get six days off. Actually it was a short easy day
It is a weird Canada Day holiday on Wednesday July 1st and we couldn’t get staffing properly due to Covid For the week so pulled the plug. So six days, let’s count how many will rain
Goals are: Paint an F40 and assemble the scary bee

On the bench I have the TIE Striker to paint. A panzer II that also needs paint and a Spiteful that I should probably finish up.

I managed to sit down at the bench and slop some mud onto the tyres and under side. So I got something done I had time to do more yet I just didn't have the energy. Come 10pm I thought yeah just do this one thing and it won't be such a waste.

A very nice weekend by the sounds og it apart from the inconvenience of advancing age.
I worked spraying roundup out on pasture paddocks. Coming to a end shorty for a while in a day or two.
This coming weekend will entails more garden restoration cleaning gravel and I hope some bench time Sunday morning.
Presently working on a M5a1 Stuart early version almost time to start laying down some primer/base coat as soon as I finish the grousers. Gluing bits together smaller than a match head doesn't do a lot for me.

Did some work on my tracks for the M5a1, not a lot or I should say slowish work polishing the wear points. Fixed my friends gates and proceeded through On Monday to fix the hot water system temporary until I can replace the whole unit.

Got modelling on the brain this weekend. Goal is to paint the F40 blue and get the Cobra clear coated


Will be good to get those off my mind as they have been sitting a long time waiting to finish
Pretty sick of work at this point and of course have a few things to do I will have to go in for
Hard to model in the summer with warmer weather and lots to do outside

I also have a Panzer II that's been painted, and just waiting final assembly/weathering. I just can't bring my self to finish it though. Which is weird because weathering tanks is one of my favorite things to do with the hobby.

However during the week I had to ferry Mum to the Doctors one day then come back only to find Dad broke a bone so back again then Home then back again. I must have racked up 1000km and I got one colorbond fence up during all that ( one to go ). Then Friday off to Perth to see the number one son for 4 days....So.....No....Bench...TIME....DAMN IT.

Tore my workroom apart for a redo last weekend (13 1/2' x 13 1/2', but I had jammed my usable modeling area into about 4' x 6' ). I've been working on it all week , and hope to be finished with it this coming weekend, with a larger, more user-friendly work table, more organized storage, and more display space for finished models, and easier access to everything.

Good idea! When I was a 9-1-1 dispatcher in my very rural Texas county, 90% of the time on night shifts(10pm - 6am), there were no calls, so to fight boredom and stay awake, I would bring a card-stock model airplane to work on.

We're half way through Sunday; but, I'd like to finish painting the Snowspeeder and possible get it assembled. I've also been putting off all work related to the Panzer II. If I can get the Panzer II off the bench, then that will free up space to start a B-Wing or something else.

Edit:

I did accomplish rearranging my paint wall. I'd had a bunch of mostly unused Model Master Acrylic pots. I elected to remove them to flat storage in a plastic bin and replace with my growing amount of Mission Model Paint bottles. It also gave me room for my Ultimate Washes.

I sort of feel like I should make a second rack with all the paints and weathering products that are starting to pile up.
