Weekend Goals and Accomplishments

I did a little work on 2 kits to advance them towards the priming phase and I worked the early morning shift.Finished that today thankfully I don't like getting up at 4.30am. Been missing breakfast and lost a couple of lbs Trimmed the dogs nails which he wasn't too happy about.
This coming weekend we are off to Perth to see our first grandchild....yeah the boy was taking his time. Not born yet , but should be by the time we arrive 3 days over now.
Thought it was time this thread was resurrected.

I'm glad this thread has been resuscitated / resurrected, as it gave a very useful insight into stuff we all do rather than model.

I did nights for 17 years because I couldn't get up in the mornings now I'm up all hours I hate doing the dogs nails

At least this weekend was a success. Did a bit of work on all the kits on the bench. Also, I removed a tree from the back yard in preparation for a fence to be installed this week.

Spent most of Saturday filling in solicitors forms for the new house (why the hell they want the solar panel install cert on the house we are selling is beyond me!!) as well as preliminary forms for the surveyors going in Weds. Sunday was sorting boxes ready for packing - did manage to grab a half hour chat with our daughter amazingly. Not really had a proper chat for ages as she's working all the hours god sends in hospital. She leads the physio team in the ICU/CCU wards dealing with COVID patients - then when her shift finishes she's doing extra hours as a general nurse. Good news there is the count is starting to fall off.
Other than that I did some more on the Shilka and T-34 as noted in the relevant threads. Trying to drag them out a bit as once finished I don't think I'll get a chance until we've moved. Missus mumped about me starting these!!

Your Daughter is one of our NHS stars.
I have a niece who finished her training for Operating Theatre Tech and has spent most of her time on ICU as a nurse this year. As a family we donate bundles of Chocolate and sports socks to her (believe that she has to chuck them away after each shift).
NHS are really the dogs doo dahs this year.
The paper work for houses now is astonishing. Bureaucratic mumbo jumbo

They are ecstatic, a C section was needed as he was a hefty 4.5kg or 10lbs in the old language.

Hectic work finished half way through Saturday, but then it was Clean the House before the Missus arrived in the arvo. Sunday was early morning work again( 3hrs ) then the missus had me working through her list of jobs. Mainly repainting the fire box and doing some back yard electrical installing new ceiling lighting. Of Course all new holes had to be made and the old ones plugged then the ceiling paint has a small shadow where the old fitting s had been...she's not happy. Next I'll be repainting all the damn ceilings. Not one thing done at the bench again although I did do some cleaning up and that made me feel a little better.

I guess it appears that we have all hit a snag this weekend as I was busy with the yard, house cleaning, laundry, sprained right knee, and family activities as well. That means I got ZERO modeling done this weekend too.

Congrats digger on being a papaw. When they get older, feed them sugar items, buy them loud toys and send them home (smile). Also your little remark about cleaning up got me motivated to start cleaning up areas so I can lay out and inventory my unbuilt kits. That will take some time....

As Scarlett said in Gone with the Wind, "Tomorrow is another day".....

Trying to keep my head down this weekend, we are expecting the arrival of a Cyclone in the next 12hrs thank fully only a top end cat 2 so far. Might have to tape the windows up. Fully expecting to lose the roof off the old shed, but everything else is tied down or tidied up. Should be a good motivation to get some bench time in.....we shall see. No doubt tomorrow will involve some clean up.

We shall see ....it's still approaching. The eye should be here in about 6hrs. Winds starting to ratchet up a bit now in 50km ( 30mph ) range dust blowing.

Cat 2 when it got to us and that was bad enough. Luckily it was mostly tree damage with us, although I came close to losing the house as the kitchen window is a large plate glass window fronting right into the prevailing wind. That window was exhibiting a lot of flex measured by one silly buggers hand. If it had gone I would have lost the roof and more. Winds I'm told hit 160km/hr.
ATM I'm without grid power and the phone is off. The net came back today around noon. I'vE spent 2 solid days picking up tree branches out of my paddocks and cleaning up at my mum's.... 5 ute loads of green waste from there and a morning. The rest of the time i'v been cleaning the farm up and I have to spend another day on the loader pushing the big stuff back off the paddocks. Hopefully that will be that then.
Kalbari got demolished 70% of homes destroyed, Northampton pub copped it bad too.....damn.
All the roads have been closed. No food, mail or fuel has been delivered to Geraldton since last Friday. Hopefully tomorrow will see the Perth road open and everything getting back to normal fingers crossed although Geraldton still has no power to 29,000 homes.
No one killed though so that's a blessing.



Ps....no bench time at all during that.....no power and wasn't able to set the gen set up until the next day.

Thanks guys. Heard last night 130 power poles were down and yes still no grid power or mobiles ...day4. On the bright side 2 tv channels are back on air. Oh and our illustrious leader poked his head over the border to reassure us that we'll be alright....

Worse than a Cat3,my wife has decided we are painting the office this weekend

So much for a pleasant relaxing four days off.
Much packing and tidying this week before the process starts; I have moved much of my office model stash to home. Still lots of junk to deal with and store, move or find a new home for. We will have to babysit the painters as they go and let them in in the morning and out at night. Some backsplash tile work for me to do as well.

I'm happy to get any modelling done this weekend. I got my 2nd COVID vaccine on Friday and life was good. Did some work on the Panther, no big deal. Come Saturday (yesterday) I woke up with a headache, but still did some around the house stuff. By early afternoon I was feeling the worst I have felt in a very very long time. Cue me sleeping for nearly 15 hours and running a slight fever. Today, Sunday, I feel great, like nothing ever happened.

My daughter had the first jab of the Moderna vac......really sore arm and headache.

Nothing accomplished here on the bench. Had to work getting ready to start to seed the new crop today. Blew a hydraulic hose getting it out of the shed so Have to that fixed a soon as the Farm supply centre opens.
Day 9 and still no power or phone.
Did manage to watch a Night shift vid last night .....this morning I remember nothing....sigh.

Office got painted and I did little, so that was great. I have to put things back together and clean up today
Sunday I washed three cars and interior detailed two of them
Saturday I made a path on our north wall side with 16x24” pavers into pea gravel...still have more levelling and edging to do but the path is walkable


Got the Ferrari egg all painted and decalled, now let it dry off before 2k clear

So modelling has to be fit in with all the jobs the wife lines up for Monday and Tuesday..... Hoping to get a bit in tomorrow after doing her delivery runs - which includes a dirty great sewing machine I got "talked" into fixing for one of her friends.

I am now a night Owl and stay up till 2-3am most nights

I'm having a coffee then back to do the Missus's bidding. Made a fair old start and plowing through it so far. Almost lunch though I shall nip out and get some clean up done then have lunch and re assess. I'm starting to think I should institute a new rule. I work on her list in the morning , but the arvo is mine......I like the sound of that .....

I looked at the bench at 3 in the arvo and to be honest I was feeling a little less energetic and in need of a rest since I'd been up since 6.30am. The best of intentions and all that, but my body let me down.

This weekend in the UK is a complete and utter washout weather wise, well especially Saturday. This weekend Mrs DW is at work all weekend.
I am gonna finish off the Hall (yes, you heard right those who know the story), one of the walls is still not complete and a bit of glossing on woodwork down one side of Staircase.
Anyway, I'm getting the roller out and the Magnolia and White Gloss and hitting the Decorating ball.
I am planning to pick away at the 1/16 Panzer 1. Tracks have been given a Light Rust Wash. I need to complete the Wire Cutter Handles, bit more mottled Brown hues and some Chipping, before applying Gloss Varnish and starting the 2nd part of weathering .
Whatever you get to do, I hope it goes well, safely and with some ease and happiness.

Saturday is a goner now and it looks like Sunday is another work day and it will be the 11th day of intense Gastro problems. My god I'm sick of eating potato and cracker biscuits.
Good news is Monday I shall be finished seeding and can relax a little more.
