Thanks Coen. Normally when I build it's a mess too. It looks clean because I had to move all stuff around, pack my sister's old rumble and get it ready for CWE GB. So no worries, soon it will be "even more man cave"

for the wife supporting ya hobby cause at the end of the day as much as we do this for ourselves its the support of friends, family, loved ones and communites like this that allow us time to spend on the bench.

Ridgers, my current work area is also my PC desk (and a small desk) in the corner of the bedroom. The joys of living in a one bedroom flat. If I lived here alone, then the living room would have a bigger desk etc in it, since I don't just sit and watch TV. But alas I live with my gf, wonderful as she is, which means I am relegated to the bedroom corner.

When we move though, I am making sure that before we sign a lease on anywhere, that it either has a spare room I can turn into a man cave, or preferably a box room, or even a large walk in closet which I can make into my space.

i know its a bit messy but i never clean it when im in the middle of a build so it really only gets cleaned once a month

A cozy little work space buddy. As long as it works for you it's awesome.
Mine was a board on the end of the kitchen table until a couple of years ago.
So nothing to be ashamed of.
The mess just means you've been working.

haha thanks ill try get him to clean it but hes always busy lol. yeah its my little corner of sanctuary and at least i know were everything is... most of the time

I have to clean up after every time I did some work to my models. I'm sitting at the dinnertable in our living room.
Sometimes that's annoying to clean up in the middle of a build, must be careful not to break or lose parts.
You got yourself a organised chaos!

Nice space there Jan. I have one of those Ikea lights, but I think I could do with a new bulb in mine, it seems rather yellowish of late and its not great really. So will prob look to get a daylight lamp sometime.

Thanks Coen, I do try to keep things tidy, doesn't work sometimes, on the opposite wall is this computer desk so with a 180 chair swivel it's easy to find ref pics and info from it and the folders and books on the shelves above.

I finally have a home for my hobby after we moved to a new house 6 mths ago. I have set up in an alcove of the garage with one large table and a small desk for the spray booth. Still acquiring tools and paints as needed.

A lot of birthday presence, saving money and looking for bargains, as well as scrounging everyday things that are useful. Having one dedicated place to work and set up is so much easier that only having a fold out table in the lounge room in our old house.

Nice workspace Chris.
My only concern and something us Brit's don't have to worry about is all the Huntsman, black widows, snakes and critters that could "hide" in those dark corners under the worktop....
Being in the garage I'm sure they manage to get in there?
Can you tell I am a bit of a phobic?
Hate spiders, they so fast and all legs and fangs.....
Other than that you a lucky guy having such room and space to work undisturbed.

Well, I must say I'm impressed! Lots of great workspaces here. Many of you have been an inspiration too, so the pics a post here are for now. There are going to be changes in the near future dear friends

With my future man cave I simply wish for 3 main things.
1. A nice big desk with plenty of room on it for modelling, as I currently only have the pull out tray on a PC desk, and a small PC desk for it.
2. Proper, efficient, useful storage space for paints, tools etc.
3. Plenty of display space, either in glass cabinets, or shelves similar to Coens.

Luckily my Dad is a very good carpenter so I am sure I could coax him into helping me make some shelving, even a custom desk etc in order to make it cheaper.

I used IKEA Desk tops. About £7.
