Weekend Goals and Accomplishments

WOOOOHOOOoooooooo!!!!!!!!
Two patients until weekend. Gotta stop for drink mix on the way home, been a long week

Not much at house as painting interior and exterior and siding ongoing... so nothing to clean or do for me
Have dug myself some big time holes in the sig's I wanna do and they keep adding up!
Time to get to Thunderdome this weekend and do the 747

Hopefully should be able to get some bench time this weekend.... But the wife wants the garden doing , I'm hoping it rains so It can't be done ....want to start on the Airfix Gazelle... It's calling me

Yeah so exactly none of that got done. Kids wanted to have fevers and grow new teeth instead of sleep. I did get some Gundam Guide updates done, so that's something.

We'll build blue bear tonight after dinner. Kiddo reminded me every three minutes this morning that would be the agenda.

Mate the garden got done

....as for the Gazelle..... Wish I stayed in the garden its been a nightmare.... Fighting me all the way for a 1:72 starter kit it had loads of issues . managed to get it sprayed today just got to put all the bumps and lumps on it

I did no modeling, I could have, but This FLY model Focke Achgellis Fa 30 ( german Gyroglider ) is really putting me off. Broke some structs, some are missing, accidently cut a part in half ( didn't check instructions ) so I have had to make some replacements. I spend more time on the floor looking for insect size PE that flicks off the model as soon as I try to glue it. Damn glue is going everywhere, BUT I SHALL PERSEVERE ! Even if it looks like crap at the end of the processs....

I had pretty good three days
Rented a truck and moved some stuff my sister wanted out of her house after it was sold
Did a bit of our house build site clean up and running around. Lots of lifting and moving of wood and humped all the tiles for four bathrooms from the curbside delivery to their locations today.
I FINALLY got started on the big 747 and had a great afternoon simulating my workshop area with a folding chair and some music outside my workshop door while I sanded and cut the fuselage in balsa wood
Back to work tomorrow

. know what you mean about PE used it for the first time on a Hurricane .....hence why it hasn't got lap belts ...

Put a little white towel in your lap, some tape on the back of the PE tree before you cut it off, lots of light and go slow and careful...all will be fine

Says a guy who dropped an entire X Wing model and lost a blinking bleeding bloody blaster onto a wood floor!!!!

Another weekend with the in-laws and a boat load of non-model duties. Le sigh.

I might sneak in some late night work, it's going to be hot the next couple days anyway. Nearly done on one project and up to color on the other...my favorite part. I can't resist painting at least some base color...

Well my plan sorted off worked .....went to the model shop for paint for the bike ....came out with 2 models Airfix seaking and an Eduard dauntless and no paint

....keep me busy for a while ...Eduard is a limited edition so it will be my 2nd build with PE and my 1st with resin

Multitasking with cricket on the radio, olympics on the tablet and football updates through phone.

Trying to work a bit on my two Typhoons but progress is a little slow.

Cricket: Pakistan batting us out of the game.
Olympics: Gold and silver for GB in the rowing.
Football: Leicester City lost away to Hull City.

Typhoon 1: Canopy glue drying and awaiting masking for top camouflage.

Typhoon 2: Cockpit glossed awaiting a wash.

Over to the athletics now.

Go Team GB - we are rocking it in Rio - I even got excited watching the dressage!

Bench wise, I put the paint masks on the 8 exterior wheels on my Tiger 1 - and that's it. Talk about lame!

Ok, moments away from start of a weekend filled with..........not much exciting
Model goals include starting out on the truck sig build and more progress on the sic fi dio
Might even try a bit of golf with wife and kids
Summer is winding down pretty fast, notice how early it gets dark???!!!!

Last Friday before vacation! There's nothing like that feeling of obligations evaporating as the clock ticks closer to a long break...

Not much can be done this weekend, though. But who cares, I'll have WEEKS to just dink around at the bench come Monday.

It's not Friday, but I'm finally on vacation! 4+ weeks of hopefully as much nothing as possible. Can I slam out 4 kits? I'm certainly game to try.

1. Finish the Dom Tropens for the Sci-Fi SiG
2. Start and finish my Floaty Thing for that SiG
3. A second entry for Summer Sci-Fi, my 1/48 YF-19 with PE
4. Start and finish my entry for I Heart Tamiya

Tall order, but I have nothing else in mind for this break...

Now i have my W&N Slow dry meduim i hope to get the Acadamy M2A2 painted this weekend once i figure out the best ratio's to use, getting a gloss coat on the tank would be a bonus as well as its a long weekend in the UK

Thanks, bud. I don't have a coffee machine down here, but I did have a dream once a couple months ago that I had installed two taps; one for IPA and one for porter. The drinky IPA, not the painty IPA.

Sorry to hear about the nearing end to yours. I know with me when I come to the end of a long break I tend to get into a bit of a panic to do all the things I wanted to do. Then I end up just moving up happy hour to 2pm and enjoying not being busy. Tends to work out for the best.

Hey, wait a tic, I think that is a Mustang crack.
Now listen here sonny, my Mustang, she started everytime first crank....except when the alternator was going and I took it in cause she sounded weird but the guy said "its just the alternator it's fine"and then it died the next day. She also drove perfect, well except in tight corners especially with bumps when her backside might kick out on you and spin you around...it is fun, except when it is not. Don't get me started on the leaky passenger side and windshield drains and the convertible roof that drains inside the rear quarter panels, clog up and slosh water around. Ok I hate Ford

Anyhow, I am making a maple based cardboard paint rack tonight just in your honour...will post it in Pete's thread

Man a weekend disappears in the blink of an eye
Did start the Ford semi truck, just barely with the engine block
Fiddled with the 747 a bit
Cleaned my model desk up and organized so I can't find where I put everything
Worked like a yahoo for two days at the house cleaning out a crawl space and taping down protective layers over two floors of hardwood
Need a rest day!!!,

My weekend goals didn't go to plan was making good progress on the dauntless ...cockpits were coming along nicely .....then tried to put fuselage together and it went down hill from then on ....covered it up and walked away as I was getting frustrated with it , think I'll have a day off tomorrow

....or it might end up on the shelf of doom or worse .

The 747 is gonna get real sandy this weekend and I wanna paint up the Ford engine all spiffy like
I will look longingly at the tamiya Phantom, but no promises in starting it..I can handle two at once, but three at one time might overpower me..model kits I mean, ya

As of tomorrow my long Summer break is at an end. A day of silly meetings looms tomorrow. Will take some determination to put a tie on in the morning (I hate having to wear a tie, stupid, pointless neckwear).

Hoping my building Mojo holds up as it usually flies south for the Winter with the swallows.

Ah well, soon be half term I suppose.

Work Saturday morning, then the next 36hrs are mine to waste as I please.

Amend that.... I'm also local gas fitter and a job just lobbed my way.
Not sure yet what I'm going to do to fix it. Apparently the client cooked a nice roast in the oven...as you do.. when couldn't open the oven door. In order to get his families dinner out and it had cooled enough. He unscrewed the glass window in the front of the door and extracted his very cold dinner....

and I was told he has tried t get the side panel off as well. Still no success in opening the door. So what state the appliance is in now I shall see soon. But more importantly he is eating into my free time.... only 33hrs to waste now it seems.

Bright side more modeling money ...
