I saw a guy on youtube (sorry, can't find it anymore) who used the same stuff. He drybrushed te tops of the waves with some white paint.

I can see what you mean about needing some more practise with the product, but in all honestly buddy... you nailed it for the most part.
It's a little tiny bit unusual around the rocks... but it doesn't look wrong. I only saw it because you pointed it out.
I wouldn't have noticed it otherwise.
It looks just like angry muddy water dude.

I don't know what the restrictions are for your competition, I'm assuming that it can't be a vignette or display base because it has a structure in it... so a diorama class is a must. I've seen the dios in European shows... I'd never bring my work there... no way. Yours is an excellent piece, but it's the Marder that tells the tale when I look at it. Not the bridge. The bridge is the eye candy... the wow factor and distracts from the amazing Marder.

I'd leave the dio at home and just use the Marder for the show if it were me... I wouldn't be happy about it... but that's what I'd do.

Angry muddy water indeed... I too like the water on the rocks, for that just a Dutchman's ways of detailing
I can enter loose vehicle's too in the competition, just like my previous marder.
My modelling standards are high, and just like you said, the bridge will draw off the attention of the Marder, with i'm very happy with.
So indeed, I leave the dio at home and just use the Marder for the show
But you can take this from me, you will see the bridge dio soon enough with another vehicle on top, and with perfect water.

But i understand the decision on the entry
I may have an idea on how to make the waves or what ever you want to call them
If you let it set for a couple of hours so the toplayer has time to set
Then you could use a hairdryer to blow it in the direction you want
I haven't tested it though as i don't have a dio planned that would need it
atleast not soon but it is something i wany to try
So maybe for a other buuld it could be usefull

This dio does look good indeed, but not according to my own standards... I'm a bit of a perfectionist or rivet counter if you like, so if it's not good for me, I will put it on the shelf until I get it done right.
Now, as I want to concentrate on the D-Day GB, i'm not touting this bridge until the GB is on it's end.
But no worries, I've got all ready something else planed for on hat bridge

I saw that vid on youtube, and that's exactly what I've done.
I think I just need to make more white foam around the rocks.
I will get there, one way or another
