Hi all

Thought I would get some pictures up of my man cave.



Most of my stash are in the plastic containers (can you tell I've moved around a bit lately.)



Bringing my 2 hobbies together.



Well that's pretty much it, it's fun to dream of the ultimate man cave though .

It's a blessing in disguise for you. The basements in North America are spider factories. Given the 8 legged monsters you have down under building an area you'll share with them might be something to avoid.

I finally have my own work bench at my mums house. I have a bigger desk at my dads but I don't really do much modelling there.
SO much easier with my compressor under he desk and the airbrush on the wall. Beats having to carry it all down the stairs each time...
I know my paint collection doesn't look like much at the moment as I have just been trying to convert over to acrylics. I am getting lots of paint for xmas so it should have quite a few more paints on it soon.

Looking good Will, you got some Ultimate cleaner and thiner so your of to a good start in my books lol

I like this setup, it's quaint like mine is. Although, your chair looks uncomfortable for long sessions.

Well I finally have something worthy of showing off. I have redone my man cave, and by the looks of it I should be able to do some serious work in 2014.

But first I would like to show you what I had been working with.

And now on to the new and improved Cave! Took me a couple of days, but it was well worth it!

This section will be where I do my Airbrushing work as I have very close access to the window, or at least the side the opens

I don't have a separate workplace.. I do everything in my bedroom. I've got nowhere else After a session I usually prop the window open to let the fumes out
When we moved in, the room used to be some sort of child's playroom or nursery room so I got some awesome crayon pattern wallpaper.



I keep me stash next to the bed...

Finally... I have this monstrosity living in my room. A man in the neighborhood was moving out and it turned out that he builds aircraft and had some stuff for sale.
At that time I didn't know any better about the hobby and I regret passing all the resin and aftermarket he was offering. At that time I was only interested in armor
But my mother had bought this for me without my knowledge.. for $12





It's in 1/32 scale and half-built... way out of my league
As soon as I saw it.. I knew what to do.



I put it on top of the shelf... trying to forget about it. But it sits there, staring at me from above when I go to sleep.

This was it as of today. Mostly it's just varying degrees of haphazardly-strewn equipment. I do often clear the mat, but it usually returns to this sort of mess within a few minutes...

Epic room, beside the bed like me. Unfortunately that means I have to airbrush in the garage and when it's -40 C outside it's a bit ...difficult... So building in the winter, painting in the summer...
Also, that's an epic Tomcat! HUGE LoL it's always watching you EVEN WHEN YOU SLEEP. Be careful as they eventually get telepathic powers and say "...build me... ...build me..." into your head if you leave 'em unfinished for too long.

I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one that has stuff EVERYWHERE! Paul and Lee's benches always look spotless.

Lots of well facilitated workstations. Lovely jubbly.

Don't be silly it does get in a mess look lol, they are on camera a lot so i think they need to be clean and tidy. Mine was always spotless before i did videos, its just the way i like to work.

I will soon convert my old homework desk to my modelling station, clearing the drawers for tamiya acrylics!

So i got some old pics way back in this thread of how my work area looked. After some remodelling and due to the fact that I´ve started filming for youtube I needed to rearrange a little so here is my current work area. It till be ripped out again when summer comes to paint walls and put down a decent floor. Its grey concrete now (imagine the carpet monster and trying to find grey plastic on grey concrete )

Anyway heres 2 pics from diff angles.

Newly finished shed space, girlfriend has exactly the same space the other end for hobby so never get moaned at about time I spend in there.

Great space there Scott and great compromise with the fairer sex.
1 bit if advise is to make sure her hobby grows as fast as yours so if you have to kick her out its cause she has to much stuf luckily it worked for me

Nice workstations. The latter looks very clean and tidy like an office desk. Perhaps the missus, does it for you. Careful now, so she doesn´t take over your man cave.

Fingers crossed my gf gets a new job soon (looking quite likely with any luck) and if she does it would mean we get to move from here. Now it might likely mean a move into my parents place for a while to save us some money (moving from one flat into a next in a month gets very expensive with deposits, rent up front etc), but after that we should be looking into a new place, and top of the list for me is a spare room/big cupboard/box room which can be used as a man cave!

That's one thing I'm looking for when me and the missus move this year is more space and a proper man cave!!

Yeah, currently my space is my desk in the corner of the bedroom (we live in a one bedroom flat) and I am now running out of room for paint, tools, stash and finished models. So I need a proper space that I can then have a bigger desk, get some proper paint/tool storage etc, as well as shelving for stash storage and either display cases or shelves for finished models.
