She looks GREAT !!!

Hey blokes. Since last update the tiger has been decaled, some washes and a matt coat applied. Some work on a diorama base has been done. Made up out of polystyrene and shaped with a hot wire foam cutter, coated with Liquitex resin sand, and then a thin layer of das worked in so some of the resin sand came through. I got some figures for a diorama and came up with a bit of a back story. There was some dead space in one of the corners so picked up a Kubelwagon.

Painting started on KW and some paint sprayed at the base. Its not quite clear from the pics, but the kneeling figure has a scoped rifle. Rocks, shrubs and maybe a tree to be added along the frontage and some scattered foliage of the remainder of the area.

Right-O, the last update as things are almost there. Seen some great builds, tips and tricks in this GB, and it's been a joy to take part. Really looking forward to seeing how everything wraps up.

The tank has had its filters and needs a little bit more weathering, as I've lost a little bit, and then a matt coat and some environmentals. And the tracks need final fitting.



The Kubel needs to be matt coated, filtered and environmented.



I spent a little bit more time on the figures than I have in the past and I was pretty happy how they turned out. Placing and environmentalling to be done.



And finally the base. A little bit more pigmenting and such. The big black scars are because I have a problem incorporating my vehicles into bases. Ignorance is my biggest obstacle.

Loving that Russ, really like the colour of your Tiger!

Like Mike said, the addition of the KW is a great touch and those figures are really well painted. Really looking forward to seeing it all pieced together!

Every element of your piece looks superb Russ, perfect actually.
I'd loose those big black marks on the dio though. Once you add the tiger to the dio, just pack the area around the tracks with pigments that match the groundwork. Carry that same pigment colour up onto the tracks and that should tie the two together.
The same with the car. The dio looks amazing, it should tell a hell of a story.

I've also got to sought out some helmets, water bottles, jerry cans, etc, to scatter about the place. I'll have a try at mixing dry pigment in with the Liquitex Resin Sand and see how that dries. It'll cover the scars and should stick the tank down nicely, then yeah take pigment over the tracks. I might have to do some strategic grass tuft placement as a finish.

Hey Russ, What were the colour paints you used for your figures? I have some DAK crew which I will be doing soon and wanted to know which colors were used. Cheerrs

Hey Tungy. The two main colours were both from "Vallejo Panzer Aces", 336 - Afrika Korps Tankcrew (green) and 340 - Highlight Afrika Korps (cream). 340-336 mix to highlight 336 and 340-white mix to highlight 340, light drybrush of white across shoulders and upper back. I also used "Secret Weapon" game wash - Baby Poop, to pin wash under the collar, epauletts, pocket flaps and major joins and seams.

Cheers mate. Originally the dio was going to be just the Tiger on a rocky outcrop in a hero pose. But that was just beyond my abilities.

Always fancied doing a Tiger desert diorama, but alas don't have the skill set yet, keep up the great work its an inspiration.
