Great work, Coen! Enjoyed seeing all the scratch building you put into the build. All that detail really pays off in the end. Nice installation of the smoke dischargers. Now I'm getting anxious in digging out my Tiger I kits

Though I thought that most of the scratch was amateurish and a bit crap... the crappiness of the kit helps to hide that fact.

Actually I'd really love to see you knock together a Tiger.

All your builds make my lower jaw drop with such extreme force that I'm getting letters from China to cease and decease.

My lower jaw hasn't seen so much damage since my youthful days commanding an underground fight club.

All joking aside, terrific build buddy . The weathering on the battle damage is top notch and something I strive for!!!

May I ask you where you saw this reinforced mesh? I'm researching this feature of the Tiger and all that I've found so far is pipes made from a single tightly wound strip. I can't find any with 2-dimensional mesh patterns.

Hi David.
The Feifel filter hose or tubes were made of a flexible metal tube that was something like the hose for the exhaust on a dryer. It was reinforced internally with some sort of ribbing. The out side had a metal mesh covering it.



The one one the Bovington Tiger I is missing the outer mesh and only has the reinforced "Dryer hose" l left to it.
I haven't a clue as to what purpose the mesh served.

This is a resin aftermarket piece modelled on the Bovington parts.





There is a lot of argument and conjecture over what the outer covering of the tube looked like and what it was made of. I don't honestly know myself.
I just tried to make my Tiger look like the picture that I saw.

...Coen You are really long-suffering Man . The Model with dio is Superb P.s. How many hours altogether was with him 40, 50 , 100 ? My standart with in 1:72 scale is 12-16h ..sometimes to 18h Work.

My Mind is blown... all these extra parts and details

Well, when I look at this photo, all that I can see is the 12-sided tubes that I described above. I don't see a mesh!



This is a WW2 photo (courtesy NARA) showing a brand-new Tiger's Feifel tubes. Again I don't see anything except the 12-sided strip.

They may make things easier to understand.... maybe.
The hose is also called a braided hose if that helps.

For those of you that may not know Otto Caruis is still living working at his pharmacy Tiger Apotheke.

One of our members had coffee with him a few months ago.
That was awesome.. I was shamefully jealous.

Like myself Otto Carius was born at Zweibrücken (a small town in Rhineland-Palatinate).
Today he's living in Herschweiler-Pettersheim (39 Km away from me) where he's still working at his own pharmacy.

Thanks, Coen, and since I have a lot of Tiger books, maybe I have those photos already somewhere. But right now I can't find any other kind of Feifel pipe.

I'm still hunting... I have tonnes of them too. There were two pics of the same vehicle from two angles, one from above and one from the side. I'll be damned if I can remember what book it was or even what the specs on the vehicle were.
It was one of those... Oh cool... That's something I want to add.... Then poof I lost track of it.

Indeed it makes me want to build the Tiger, I have the crappy Academy Early version kit with interior, but it sits unfinished on my shelf of doom, maybe I'll pick it up and refurbish it.

I've build that old academy kit... It's not that bad. Don't pay too much attention to the details and it will build up just fine and look really cool when it's done.
