I think I've buggered her up
I tried to go for a dusty, beat-up kinda thing and this is what I've got up-to now..
I'm not keen to be honest...
Decals didn't help my mood, you can see where I've lost white 1 here..
Undersides not to bad though..
I think my inexperience shows a bit. It's my first 1:32 and I think I got a bit overwhelmed with it all....patience as well.....I'm not blessed with loads of patience.
I've gone with a sand wash, dark dirt wash tried an oil dot filter (not successful)
I going to put her aside for a bit and get a bit of confidence back with the Wyvern, I've still got some work left in her though..
Any thoughts? Please comment if you like, anything constructive would be ace...

I think it's great. What sort of wash did you use? Water/clay based or enamel/oil? I think your pre- and post-shading is very well done. Too bad about the cowling and the decals.
I have the same kit, so you have helped me tremendously with your excellent documentation here.

Thanks Jon
I've used both Ultimate and oil washes, I need more practice with oil's defiantly.
It is a great kit Jon but the cowling is a little tricky. My problem is patience....I'm all rush rush rush, as soon as I've opened the box, I can't wait till do the cockpit then I'm rushing to get to paint, decals thrown on...etc. Maybe I ought to have more than one kit on the go????
Thanks Jon

Ok, then I should probably shut up...but I really really like it!!!
WOW! Awesome desert wear, bleaching from the sun, chipping and all dusty.
The decals just adds to the realism and scale appearance in my eyes.
Looking at the pics and reading how You beat Yourself up does not add up to me.
You have done a great job!!!
Wish You would finish this beautiful 109 now mate!!
(If You don't want to mess with the cowling just leave it off and display the nice engine!)

Crickey Jermaine praise indeed, thank you for support. I'll back to her soon, anyone got pointers for a desert diorama?

Wow that's strong language Nige.
I didn't think it was turning anything like, I thought I kinda ruined it a bit with the weathering, but if guys like you think it's OK then that's good enough for me
